    Truck Size to transport

That is nice of NM! In CT you can't tow over 26,000lbs without a CDL. Does not matter that you are towing your own stuff and are not for hire. The only exception to this is RV's. I have a friend who is a CT State Trooper and works CDL Compliance. We were looking to buy a 14K trailer or upgrade...

    Replacement metal roof....best method

I have metal roofs on several barns and outbuildings. I would not put the standard imperial type roof with exposed fasteners on a house. My barns have a few drips from screw penetration when it rains real hard. No big deal on a barn. You definitely don't want that happening in your house. I...

DIY septic tank and drain field?

Yes, in certain states and counties, a septic can be a DIY project. My FIL installed his own septic in upstate NY this past summer. He pulled permits and had to have it engineered by a licensed engineer but he did all the digging, installation and backfilling of the tank and leach fields. County...

Can you guys help me select the right snow removal implement for my specific application ?

Do you have a cab on your Kioti? If yes I'd go with an inverted rear pull blower or a front blower. Move the snow once and be done with it. No damage to driveway. Plowing 4-6" is easy. Gets harder at 12-18". A blower on a big tractor like you have should have no problem. How much snow do you get...

    Ethanol Free Gas

I'm jealous that ethanol free gas is available near many of you. In CT, it is only available as racing fuel at 94 and 110 octane in 1 and 5 gallon cans for $22 a gallon or $100 for 5 gallons. Stewart's gas stations in NY sell it at the pump for a dollar more than regular gas, but the closest one...

    Homemade wooden snowplow - thoughts?

Plows take a lot of force. I don’t think a wooden plow would survive very long. I attached a 7.5’ plow to a SSQA plate. Has hydraulic blade angle adjustment. Plow hangs from a chain so it floats to follow the driveway nicely. Paid $100 for the plow. Painted it up and it looks and works great.

Need help with purchase of weight distribution hitch

The higher weight rating on the distribution hitch, the stiffer the bars are. I have 2 WD hitches, a 6000 lb set for my camper and a 14000 lb set for my equipment trailer. The 14000 is much harder to set the bars. It doesn't matter how much the trailer weighs.
