I see both sides of this. I was I when I started running the riding mower on the farm acreage. I also attended a funeral for a co-workers step son. His 'real' dad let him run a zero turn unsupervised on a hilly property. It only takes one accident to be fatal. I lost a wee bit of...

It happens all the time. Dealers get up to 2% of the financing. New or used. That part is negotiable for them with the lender. Much more likely with dealers who sell both new/used. The lender I worked on auto lending had only a handful of independent dealers. Many of the others are too...

    Warranty misleading

Part of the problem for many in the younger generations is their expectations. Our first place was a dump when we bought it, but we fixed it a bit and took some equity into the next place...rinse and repeat. Kids seem to want a house on par with the one they remember...our 4th or 5th.

Can't fault the US/Canadian mfgs for pricing (to a degree) when their costs are higher. My EV SxS was just over $13K. Included 2" receiver, roof, windshield, and 3.5k winch. It bites that it is Chinese. The only ways to put pressure downward on prices is to buy the cheaper models or don't...

    Widest Cat 1 Rotary cutter?

Howdy neighbor! We're south of Lake Bob Sandlin. Most of our property is loblolly. My tractor is about the same. T574H. I went with a flail ditch mower. I only have maybe 3 acres of space to mow. Ditches and easements. In your situation, I'd probably just narrow the trails.

    Car Insurance skyrocketing

Pulled over for a one-ton truck pulling a water pump in CT.

This hits on my pet peeve with pickups. The nomenclature makes no sense anymore. The 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton trucks were labeled as such based on payload, not towing, capacity. For many years, contemporary truck payloads have far exceeded those levels. There is unlikely any 1/4 ton trucks out...

I just got off of a rental mini-ex. Less than $300 dropped off and picked up by them. It worked well and if I owned one I would probably find things to do with it...but I'm too cheap for what amounts to a toy. It typically adds $7000-$14000 for a backhoe on a tractor. I know a TLB they are...

Really, really dumb question about difference between off road and on road diesel fuel.

I have to go about 20 miles (choice of directions) to get to a supplier who carries off road fuel. If I had a big tank, they would deliver. Here you need to fill out paperwork and get approved to buy it. It can save a lot depending on the volume you use.

Determining Acceptable Value of Inherited Real Estate?

That really depends on how it works in CA and how the will was set up. The estate owns the house. He is the executor. They don't each own 1/3, technically. Sometimes, people leave distribution completely to the discretion of the executor. Sometimes it is very detailed.
