23 in the Blackhills of South Dakota. Heavily forested in aspen, birch and ponderosa pine.
Nice! We'll be up your way once or twice in the next month or so. Family near Sturgis branding later this month.

Dad will be interred at the BH National Cemetery once he passes. (In hospice).

I love that area.

We have just under 20 acres. Most of it is pine plantation. About 1/2 acre of house and building space. Easements are really the only parts that aren't wooded.

A hunting club that owns 96,000 acres?! That's one hell of a club!
It's actually owned by a timber company and we just lease it from them, they own close to 400,000 acres in three county's and there are several other hunting clubs that lease the rest of it. The land was owned by the Foley family prior to being sold about 7 or 8 years ago and was reportedly the largest single land aquisition ever East of the Mississippi, also years ago the family donated 10's of thousands of acres to the State of Florida to supposedly protect the coast from development which amounts to about 20 miles of coast line.

Sorry to hear about your dad. That cemetery is beautiful.

Our house will be built this summer on the place we have there. Excited and stressed at the same time. It's located between Deadwood and Spearfish.

We have a 1/2 acre city lot n Sand Springs, Oklahoma, were we currently reside and 9.25 acres in Yellville, Arkansas we will be building on and moving to hopefully later this year. Waiting on permits to be approved.
The property has two creeks, one seasonal, the other spring fed, runs year round, forming the north and east boundries. Big hill to the west, blocking road noise and no visible neighbors, yet, we are in the city limits. Nice, quiet and isolated, our retirement place.

We've got 70 acres, abutting to our 1.5 acre house lot. The 70 acres is used primarily for hunting. 30 acres of grass, half of that, bluestem. 3-acre and 1-acre food plots and 1/2-acre garden. 25 acres wooded, with a 10-acre pond in the middle of the woods. We spend pretty much each spring planting 100 to 200 spruce trees to develop better habitat for our tasty wild critters.

my tax receipt states 126800 square meters. its somewhat confusing up here as people will use either arpents (old french measure) acres or hectares (metric). 90% is wooded, sad thing is its 61 metres wide by 2158 long.
So 31 acres.

Interesting boundary. Can you own half of a lake?

yes but no... Its complex and not entirely sure on the limitation of the law and how each would work, but I know that I do not own the fish (wildlife within the lake), it is my proprety and my proprety line but I am not sure if I could restrict access on water (or ice), since there is laws such as Navigable water rights, I definitely own the land below the water but I am not sure if I own the water per say. (my guess is no as water is public)

Regardless I am not worried I never seen anyone on this lake, it is too shallow for a motor boat and not a good fishing lake ether.

I guess it ownership with limitation...
