How Many Hours Do You Spend on Your Tractor(s)?

Open cab fully restore to new condition when I got the YM2610 in 2014. Nearly put 1,000 hours on it. When covid hit in 2020, people couldn't get anyone to till gardens. It was the best seat time I had ever had. IF I eve retire, it would be the job of choice.

So, 1,000 in 1 decade or 100avg hours per year.

Open station 75 hrs a year. Mostly cutting fields, building and maintaining trails.

Retired in 2003 and bought a used gray market Mitsubishi 33 HP, by 2021 it was worn out so I bought a new LS 40hp 2021.

I have 5 tractors, but only 2 operators. My use is about 90% business and 10% use around my shop and on about 65 acres of land that I own but is rented out to a hay farmer. We tend to use the newer tractors more, because they are more comfortable.

Here is a list of approximately how many hours and annual use each has.

2022 Kubota L6060 cab -- 450 hours -- about 225 hours per year

2017 Kubota L6060 cab -- 1600 hours -- about 225 hours per year

2011 Kubota L5740 cab -- 2700 hours -- about 205 hours per year

2013 John Deere 3720 cab -- 850 hours -- about 75 hours per year (I bought this tractor about a year ago, and I've put about 50 hours on it.

1997 Kubota M4700 open -- 1050 hours -- about 40 hours per year (I bought this tractor about 3 years ago and have put about 50 hours on it. I keep it as a spare)

In 24 years I put 4500+ on a BX and in 2 1/2 years I put a bit over 400 (650 total) hours on the LS. Still use the BX quite a bit but other machines have taken more of the load.

About 20 per year on the TYM 4820 and 40 hours per year on the Hustler 72" mower.

Not a lot of time, but the work wouldn't get done without them.

My newest is the 2007 NHTD95D has over 4000 and is the lowest hours of all of them. 2 JD's are over 10,000, 2 others are at 8,xxx. IH didn't work when I got it so unknown. Has 3,5xx on working tach now. The most used tractors average 300 hours a year.

My 4110 Mahindra is open station with a very bent-up/repaired steel canopy on the ROPS. Built in 2001, I purchased new in Feb 2002 with 3.6 hrs on the clock. It now has 3224 hrs. Still gets used year 'round but far fewer hrs. per year and much lighter duty work.

Im on my second year with mine and Im almost at 100 hours so 50 hours a year or so for me. Mines an open station, dont use it much in the winter.

I only put a few hours per year on now. I bought the 1999 Kubota in 2003 with 350 hours on it. I've put about 500 hours on it in 21 years. I probably put less than 10 per year now but those are important hours when trying to get in and out of our property in the winter.

Two here. Kubota with cab and Ford open station. Majority of hours spent mowing with snow removal sometimes:

Kubota L4240HSTC - 528 hours since buying it used at the beginning of 2019, so ~ 100hours per year.

Ford 1210 HST - around 30 hours per year.

Usage has changed over the years:
*Had 2-1/4 acres when we built.
*Mowed MIL's 4-5 acres in addition to home for several years. Son helped (kept Ford there and drove B7500 back and forth).
*MIL sold farm and we added a piece to our original lot, now 3-1/2 acres
*Started plowing snow at church in 2002 (Minor hours)

Yanmar is my FM. 65-75 Tach. Hrs. Yr.. Only owned the Ford a couple mostly with the FEL. and it's been Around 25 Tach. Hrs. a Yr..

My 2008 Kubota B3030 open station had 400 hours on it when I traded it in after 4 years. I went with basically the same machine, a B3000 cab, for snow removal during big, multi-day Rocky Mountain snow storms that soaked me thru ALL my clothes the first 4 years on the open station.

Now I'm in the southeast where I use the AC almost year round, but in 12 years, am only just getting to the 400 hour mark. So I went from 100 hrs/yr down to 34 hrs/yr

Prior to moving, I almost sold the machine, thinking I really wouldn't need it on my new 2 acre lot, and although I don't use it a ton these days, I do use it, and have realized how much I appreciate hydraulics as I get older, so I've continued to add implements and customization to it, and figure I will keep it forever.

So, how many hours do you put on your tractor?

I have an old 1986 MF1040 diesel that I bought in 2004. So I have had it about 20 years and I believe I put about 50 hours per year on it. The hour meter broke a few years ago at 1700 hrs, so im guesiing I have a little over 2000 hours total. Open station, used mostly for mowing the property and DW maintenance, also used for carrying wood rounds to the barn for splitting etc. I think about a newer tractor occasionally but really dont want anything with a lot of electronics and devices I really dont need !
