    Questions on dehumidifiers

My wife and I were talking the other day about the humid summer months ahead and she mentioned about how high the electric bill goes when the air conditioner is on. ( she handles the bills ) So I suggested we get a dehumidifier. The only room that really needs it is the bedroom and the room...

Bed won't go up, can anyone help ?

I have a 1970 Chevy C-50 two ton dump truck that is mainly used on the farm. While using it this past week on about the third load I noticed the bed went up extra slow, ( when dumping I just let the engine idle and it lifts it up just fine ) the forth trip it would not go up at all. When I...

    Need Advise On Metal Siding.

I'm thinking of putting up a pole building to store equipment in and am thinking of using metal siding for the job. I don't know how popular this siding is in other parts of the country, but here in east central Ohio it seems like everyone is using it and everyone is selling it. My question...

    Natural Gas Generator Update !!

OK fellas, I've been watching and reading all of your posts and I do appreciate all of your thoughts and suggestions, but to be perfectly honest there are so many opinions that I don't know if I'm coming or going, so I'm going to rewrite what is going on and EXACTLY what I have and what I would...

    Natural Gas Generator

I have been seriously thinking about a generator for our home when the power goes out ( which averages about 1-2 times a year ). What I would like to have is a natural gas generator. Some thing I could store in the garage and when the power goes out push it out side and hook up a flexible gas...

    Planting Pumpkin Seeds

My kids just finished carving their pumpkins and want me to plant the seeds so that have a pumpkin patch next year. Do I plant the seeds now or put them in a coffee can and plant them next spring. If put in a coffee can until next spring is there anything that has to be done with them to keep...

    Herbicide help

In the past I would crawl underneath multi-flora rose bushes and cut them off, then spray the cut stem with pure concentrated Tordon RTU. On larger stems I would use a cordless drill to actually drill a hole in the top of the stem and shoot a few drops in the drilled hole to kill these plants...

    Chainsaw Gas

Has anyone run 100 octane aviaton gas in their chainsaws. It has lead in it. I live close to a small airport and am getting tired of junk gas, so I thought I might try some av. gas, but did not want to until I checked with you guys. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks. RRM

    Chainsaw sharpening machine

Does anyone own or has anyone used the Harbor Freight chainsaw chain sharpener? If so is it any good? For all the more I saw, I would not be using it every day. It's advertised at only $30.00. Or would I be better off dropping the money for one of the Oregon models. Just thought I'd ask, thanks...

    Chainsaw Bar Oil

Just wondering what weight oil is the oil that Stihl uses on the chainsaw bar. I buy it by the gallon at the Stihl dealers shop. Wondering if there could be a substitute around the farm here that I could use instead of buying the Stihl oil. A friend works at a factory and uses oil from the...

    Chainsaw adjustment

I have a Stihl 024 chainsaw I bought new 20 years ago and it still runs fine until recently. Ran good last fall when I put it away. Got it out yesterday and it would not idle at all and even when it was revved up would surge ( rev up then down then up slighty ). Thought it might be the gas since...

    In need of generator advise.

Am thinking about getting a generator for our home so when the power goes off I'm ready. Was thinking about buying a generator that uses natural gas, but when I talked to a dealer he said you do not want to go that route. I said why not and he says the engine does not hold up, says there is a...

    Took a Test

I recently took a Civil Service test for a janitorial job at the local school. Some of the questions seemed quite different from what I'm used to doing. Normally I just dive right in and do what ever is neccesary but this time there was a right and wrong answer and of course after it's all over...

    Stuck in Gear

My buddy called me up this afternoon and told me his MF 135 is stuck in reverse. He said he has tried everything, but it will not come out of reverse. Have any of you guys heard of this happening before and what should be done to correct it? Thanks in advance. RRM

    Opinions on roto-tiller

I am interested in purchasing a roto-tiller for my tractor. It's a Massey- Ferguson 35 Diesel Deluxe. I believe the tractor is rated at something like 32 horsepower. The tiller I was looking at is sold by Tractor Supply Company. The name of the tiller is King Kutter 2. I was looking at the 5"...

    Killing ants Update

I sprinkled so much SEVEN on the ant mounds that it looked liked it had snowed. It was on there about six days and then we got a light shower. Went back two days later and the ant were crawling everywhere. So much for using Seven on ants. Guess I'll have to go to plan "B". RRM

    Killing Ants

The ants are getting out of hand on my place. I have one mound that is 4' x 3' x 20" high. What is the cheapest stuff you guys dump on them that works? Thanks RRM
