Anything I add to this would be dated, but years ago, I was told by some experts that there's no problem with using a non-diesel rated oil in a diesel engine, as long as you change it more frequently; i.e., leave it in about half as long as you would leave a diesel rated oil.

73 degrees this morning, going for a high of 94. But a few minutes ago, we had a sudden little downpour that dropped the temperature from 89 to 74 and put about .02" of rain in my gauge. Glad I mowed yesterday.

I posted the above on the 17th. Today, the guy at the dealer said he thinks the problem is going to be a loose wire somewhere, but he said the problem is not intermittent anymore; "it's broke". So they just gave me a complete new mower, including a new battery and battery charger, bagger, etc.

The rain appears to be over for the time being, although the NWS is still forecasting a possibility of more rain today and tomorrow. I got just about a half inch, for which I'm thankful. It keeps the yard green.
