Good Morning!!!! 78F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 97F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
78F may well be the low for the day, since it just hasn’t been cooling off much overnight with this high pressure system perched over us. With relatively low humidity, the heat isn’t punishing, but I can almost hear my skin sizzling when I step out from under the shade. Definitely no yard work going to be done in this weather.
I think it’s wonderful that your new system is so quiet, Jay. And I bet the gentle breeze it generates helps dust to a minimum, too! And hang onto that mechanic; he’s a real keeper!
I don’t think you’ll have too much trouble getting used to your mini retirement, Phil. And knowing you only have a little more than a year left until the real thing will hopefully cushion the shock of going back to work when it’s over.
I dunno about that picher, Buckeye. She don’t look anything like the Daisy Duke I remember, and I doubt she could even begin to get into a pair of those cutoffs she used to wear!.
Use lots of garlic in that sauce, Drew. LOTS of garlic, and it’ll come out tasting like a good marinara sauce should.:licking: Sounded like those SR71 pilots had lots of the Right Stuff, too.
The past few days have prooved quite eventful for local law enforcement. A traffic stop yesterday in Chico turned up a guy running around with a complete honeyoil lab in the back of his car. A few days earlier, just up the road in Concow, they busted an even bigger lab and confiscated almost 800 pounds of processed marijuana, over 30 pounds of refined honey oil, 200 full cans of butane, and 10,000 empty butane cans! But the “what the heck” moment came yesterday afternoon when the CHP were finally able to pull over two tweakers that had stolen a fire truck from an active fire scene in Sacramento, starting a chase that lasted a hundred miles and involved LEOs from five different counties. By the time the truck got itself stuck in a ditch just down from the local fire station, it had been driven on the rim for some miles and there was nothing left of the right front tire. Fortunately all those sparks failed to start a string of fires here in our community. Crap like this convinces me that the world is indeed going to He11 in a hand basket! But I was blissfully ignorant of any of it until I read the news last night. I just hope I can keep it that way!
Hope everyone enjoys a peaceful Sunday...
