Kubota ZD1211 with 72” rear discharge deck. This resolved my three main goals in upgrading.

The ZD1211 is diesel powered. One less machine powered by ethanol contaminated gasoline. And I have a 300 gallon diesel tank full of red diesel.

72” rear discharge deck. Will cut faster and be much cleaner than the JD with 60” side discharge. With side discharge, if you’re going east with wind out of the south, you’re getting filthy.

Better ride. The JD has a good seat but the Kubota is much more comfortable. I really wanted a ZD1511 with the air-ride seat but ..... that’s a story for another day.

The downside? The trailer I normally hauled the JD on is 12’ x 77”. The Kubota RD deck is 78” wide. Oh oh! Had to bring it home on my GN Flatbed.

Going up to Bellville next week to look at a 12’ x 83” utility trailer.

We just couldn't ask for any nicer weather than we're having right now. Started the day with 54 degrees going for a high of 76, clear and sunny, and a dead calm; no wind at all.

And I've been looking at restaurants on the Internet, trying to decide if we want to try a new place in Denton or Lewisville tomorrow for our 53rd Wedding Anniversary, or if we want to go to one that we're familiar with.

came in after planting peppers for four hours.
Now working on tomatoes. Doing the still living ones first, and the almost dead ones last...

Congrats, Bird!

Ate at a place in Lewisville a few years ago on the way home from a trip to Ft. Hood, called Fat Cow BBQ. Tasty stuff, and the owner was super nice. I also bought a revolver from a guy in Lewisville later that same year, via a gun forum I no longer frequent. Strange coincidences.

Felton’s 60” was an older model, he traded up to the newest model with the bigger deck. Although I thought he said the 72” cost more when he bought it last summer.
I sat on it, big machine!
