USPS has a APP and a notification of what mail is going to show up each day. Informed Delivery. I get a daily email showing in a picture what mail is going to arrive. Lets me know to not go out to mail box if weather is bad. Not sure your Mom uses email. Wish it told me when mail is delivered. You need to get her a Amazon delivery everyday. Then get a TEXT when delivery happens. :D
Thanks, i just signed up also.

Good morning everyone.

A 40F start to the day. No sexy clouds, but they were red. Rain later today and it looks to be a wet weekend. Next week it looks like I may need the A/C a couple of days. With the anticipated rain I have nothing planned for today except for indoor puttering and doing a pharmacy run.

Rick- I await the pictures of your new mower.

Randy- I hope you are well enough to present a good case for your discharge from the hospital today. You are probably more "at risk" there than you would be at home. And I bet you would get better nursing care at home as well. ;) I do not do "well" in hospitals.:(

Roy- Good luck with the generator. It is no longer a topic for "discussion" around here.

Bill- Just out of curiosity when does it stop snowing up your way?

Eric- Thanks for the laugh and the posted picture.

Thomas- Good luck with the truck. Transporting our cats was never one of my favorite activities, and one reason why we do not have any as pets nowadays. I try not to think about our vet costs. Bonehead Brogen is losing his "jewels" May 1.

Buppies- All our first generation "high tech" "triple" pane windows and doors need replacement. Another pending cost I am trying to ignore.

I thought about getting informed delivery, but going to the PO is one of my few possibilities for social contact other than my wife and dog.

I wish the everyone has a decent weekend and those on the mend keep mending.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

Kubota ZD1211 with 72” rear discharge deck. This resolved my three main goals in upgrading.

The ZD1211 is diesel powered. One less machine powered by ethanol contaminated gasoline. And I have a 300 gallon diesel tank full of red diesel.

72” rear discharge deck. Will cut faster and be much cleaner than the JD with 60” side discharge. With side discharge, if you’re going east with wind out of the south, you’re getting filthy.

Better ride. The JD has a good seat but the Kubota is much more comfortable. I really wanted a ZD1511 with the air-ride seat but ..... that’s a story for another day.

The downside? The trailer I normally hauled the JD on is 12’ x 77”. The Kubota RD deck is 78” wide. Oh oh! Had to bring it home on my GN Flatbed.

Going up to Bellville next week to look at a 12’ x 83” utility trailer.

It was 32* this morning. Yesterday was in the high 60's, today is going to be in the low 70's. With mostly sunny skies and a 5-10 mph wind, it looks to be the nicest day of the year so far.

The neighbor needed some help with his trailer lights. So spent most of yesterday helping him. He wants to put a new deck on it today. I don't think he is doing well from his back surgery in January, that or he is over doing it. He could hardly walk by the end of the day. I think I'll try and talking him into looking for elk and not working on the trailer today.

Hope everyone gets a good start to the weekend.
CWB.

Good morning to all! 42 this morning, calm breeze, going up to 72. Weather guessers say 50/50 chance of showers late tomorrow evening. They keep pushing the chance of rain further back, which ussually means we won't get any...oh well...prolonged drought.

Went out and put about 10 hrs on the tractor. We had an old above ground pool, which was lowered about 2' into the ground. Emptied it about 3 years ago to replace the liner, never did. Decided it was time for it to go last year. Just wasn't a priority. Well the BH made quick work of it. Then started filling in the hole...lots of trips to the dirt pile left over from putting in the septic on the adjoining property. Nice to have a bunch of tractor time:D

Knee is doing better each day. PT done 2 days ago reminded me not to overdo it. Another session today, then either finish up the last of filling in the hole or take wifey on some errands.....mmmm, which one should I choose?:confused3:

Don, I agree w/ you on the use of netting. Last year we were trying to keep rabbits from eating a few new small shrubs and put netting over them. Ended up killing a big bull snake (which are our friends) who got tangled up...off came the netting.
Hope your neighbor made out ok...done many LZ out here to...

RNG, nice property, don't cut just yet, enjoy all the beauty of the wildflowers. When I first moved out west here to the mountains of NM, the wildflowers and 'green' were similar to your area. Since about 2005, it's been getting drier and drier, browner and browner. Now the drought is considered "exceptional", hope it's not a sign of another dust bowl.

Randy, glad to hear your feeling better, don't push it, continue to get well.

Jay, hope Brogen doesn't miss his parts too much...is an Elizabethan collar in the works? On another note... Maybe you need to make sure the tractor is running right after sitting a long cold winter? (Could get in some seat time).

Hope everyone has a great day. Prayers out for today.

Sweet, that’s a big brother to my Kubota, I love the speed and the ride quality. Best mower I ever owned.

Getting out at 4 pm after two more breathing treatments. I guess I’m going with an 02 generator as well. Guess I did it good this time.

50°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 71° today.

Stopped at Harbor Freight on the way home yesterday to get one of their 16-drawer tool cabinets they had marked down to $299. They were out, of course, and said they hadn't seen one there in almost two months since they sold the display unit. Oh, well. Got the oil changed in the truck while I had it out.

That's a great-looking mower, Rick. Congrats.
