I was about to point out that there was no photo attached, but the string for displaying it was included when I hit Reply. Let's see if it displays after a little doctoring. Regardless, Ron, your description is so clear the picture is a nice-to-have, not absolutely mandatory.

The question I would ask is did you wire this up yourself, or was it done by an electrician with your instructions? I'm looking at it from an insurance standpoint, where in our jurisdiction a building permit would be required for the installation, and the work must be done by a licensed electrician. I'm more than capable of doing it myself, but would hate to be denied coverage in the event of a loss.

I had the install done by an electrician. I added the digital meter myself. It is fused and wired to input of 200 amp circuit breaker box.
I have had the same insurance company for 45 years. They specialize in farms and gentleman farms. Came out and inspected the install when both installs were done. Local building inspector also came out and approved the installation. BTW, all this is inside a windowed porch. No weather other than cold gets near it. I did have one thing building inspector wanted changed. There is a window about 3' feet from generator. Had to change it to a solid window that cannot be opened. Code was 6' when installed. I think it's now 10'. The next closest window that can open is about 15' away.

Good Morning!!!! 61F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 84F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

Finished up spraying weeds yesterday, and last load was the BrushBeGone for the poison oak vines. Felt very good to get revenge for all the scratching and salving I've been doing the last few weeks. Now I just have to be patient for a few weeks while the leaves turn a lovely shade of brown and drop off.

Don't want to jinx myself, but a few days ago I got out the DeOxIt and used it on the memory chip leads in the flaky MacBook Pro. The replacement chips from Crucial worked for a few days, then the machine went back to having problems again. Figured I had nothing to loose, so doused both the chip leads and the memory sockets in the computer, slipped the chips back in, and have been using it without issue ever since. Surprised it would make any difference at all, as both sets of contacts are gold plated, and shouldn't have had any corrosion issues to start with. :confused2:

Whipped up another five gallons of nectar and fed the hummers again yesterday; that batch won't even last the week. They're drinking enough with the higher temperatures and no rain that I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't add a few feeders with just water in them. They'd be less fuss to keep full, but I worry the birds wouldn't be smart enough to figure out there's no nutrition in plain water.

Should be a nice day for working in the garage. My benches are mostly clean, though the welding table is temporarily hosting a very heavy box of new knives for the flail mower. Having just gotten through one case of poison oak, though, I'm in no hurry to start playing with the old knives, which are surely loaded with urushiol.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend, and Father's Day!

Good morning. Was 60 when out earlier...going to 87 and sunny. Had a beautiful sunrise.

Eric, sorry to hear of your wife's finger cut. You sound like a good husband/nurse.

Kyle and CWB, hope you get some rain soon. I saw the drought map recently, and you guys and LS look like you really need it.

Ron, really nice set up...I still need to do some type of transfer switch.

Tilled 3 of my food plots yesterday after picking up another load of gravel at the quarry for my next French drain. Two of the plots have the nicest soil, and the 3rd has a lot of rocks. I broke a tine completely off on one of the bigger rocks (football sized) yesterday. I've never broken one before, even on bigger rocks, but these are the "new" tines I installed a year or so ago...I guess they are not as good a quality as the original ones. I plan to plant today.

The low this morning was 50, yesterday's high was in the mid 80's. Today is going to be in the 80's, with party cloudy skies and 20% chance of thunderstorms later today. And some more wind at 20-30 mph.

I don't want to try painting the water shed with the wind blowing like it has for the past week.

My wife and I was going to go to my step mom's family reunion today. They are having it in Big Piney, it's about a three hour drive. I don't think my wife could handle the drive up and back. And being on her feet that long. I got to be good friends with some of her family over the years. Kind of like the Olive Garden they treated me like family.

So I'm not sure what the plans are for today.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
CWB.

Finished mowing the lawn a while ago. Had to pull the mulching kit off of the mower as a bolt had pulled through the plastic. Made a big mess. Piles of grass and had to watch where I blew it. I have to fix the mulching kit, it makes mowing much more fun.

Drew, Your Washington sounds like the other one. What happens in Washington stays in Washington. Pictures later. :)

Have a great afternoon. Ed

68°F and .59 inches rain

Found the last of my workbench tops yesterday - amazing sight. Today the real fun begins. I have 3 of those HD plastic shelving units, the ones about 6ft tall, 3ft wide, 2 feet deep. Crammed with screws, nails, various parts and pieces - a real rats nest. I picked up a bunch of plastic bins to hopefully get them organized.
Eric, that’s similar to my system. I just reached the point of it not working anymore. ☹️
On a better note, I now have various sand papers sorted and stored in their own dedicated area. Also built a dedicated area for my rechargeable batteries/chargers for my cordless tools. Have a bountiful harvest day, Drew.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day.

sitting in a/c trying to get my body temp down...but actually this potato dig was cooler than last time.
Pretty sure we got our 700 pounds, they carefully weigh it all and let me know.
Still have stuff to put away but I needed a break. Been on my feet since 4am.

But on a beautiful sunny day, once I rest a little, headed back out to plow a third pass.
Those potatoes I might pick up tomorrow.
Sprinkler system running in garden, really should put a timer on it.
If I fell asleep....

One lady helper was a seasoned farmer and told me to pull my beets now, don't wait. Ok, I pulled the ten nicest ones and gave them to her and she left
smiling saying they would be tonight's dinner. It's nice when everyone goes home happy...
I don't know if I can get out of this chair, but knowing the sprinkler is running, yeah, no nap yet.

Well I wish to comment on several things:
Does anyone have one of the Ford Transit Connect vans with the 2.5L Duratec I-4 engine? Specifically, I am considering the "passenger wagon". I drove one today, and of course it doesn't have the power or acceleration of our Escape, but it's adequate. I suppose my main concern right now is wondering why almost none of the Ford dealers have then in stock.

Anyway, I'd like to hear from anyone who owns one of them and your opinion of it.
I don't own one (and didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night) but have been researching them for 2 years. SWMBO wants a SWB passenger wagon. For 2019 the DEFAULT engine option is supposed to be a diesel. I'm holding out for that.

Thanks, Irv! That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a propane fueled generator, vs. having to keep gasoline around to run the Honda. Especially these days, gasoline carbs always seem to need attention just when you need them most.
If your trying to save $$ factory_authorized_outlet sells a Duromax "10,000 Watt" propane/gas generator that many on TBN have bought and written about. They are presently selling it for $1,200 but it often drops down below $650 and on Dec 2nd 2017 it dropped down to $500 for a while.

<snip>Hardest part is remembering that last project is not done until bench is clean again. <snip>
I tried to follow that when I had 1 bench, but since I've populated my shops with about ten "workbenches", 4'x8' I frequently leave things "laid out". I'll run into a problem, need another part etc. and leave the project for up to months till everything comes together. Getting parts locally is about a 2 hour roundtrip job.

It seems that there are only 5 of the Titanium versions at dealers in Texas right now (or as of yesterday), and they supposedly are not making anymore new 2018 models. So I just ordered a new 2019 model from my dealer. He first thought the diesel might be available, or a 1.5L Ecoboost (turbo), but after checking further, he said the only engine will be a 2.0L gas engine (even smaller than the 2.5L in 2018). So we'll see. If diesel or turbo were to be available, I would have gone that way.

Well I was told diesel would be standard but "late arrival".
Attached is the quote I got in April.

/edit - and I JUST called my Virginia dealer and he told me they are still on track and I could actually order one now.

Thirty minutes ago, fire is about ten miles south and upwind of here.

2018-06-16OregonGultch2.jpg
Just now, horizon completely hidden, smoke getting worse.

CalFire says they've slowed the spread, and there's little chance of it making it's way anywhere near here, but this is the third or forth fire within ten miles just today. It's still early in the fire season, and the long wet spring we've had is already showing it'll be as bad or worse than last year...

Kyle, I'm sure you will be an excellent teacher. If you can record the lessons with a camera, count me in with a few others on here for the remote learning class.

You would not stop laughing for months.....due to my southern accent....which is why I often recommend you send your grandson over here for finishing school. (Don is probably still snickering after our get together a few weeks back...) My son is getting his too, and I have no idea where he is getting it from.... :)

Hope your wifey's cut heals up quick and you 2 find no reason to stop the "helping".......

The Briggs Vanguard series are supposed to be pretty good engines. Mud daubers building nests in bad places, rodents building nests under there too. Hitting something hard which jolts the motor.
Hopefully nothing catastrophic.

RNG, prayers for rain for all these drought areas.

Benches, cleared benches is a baseball term to me. Ha! I have stuff one of my work benches from my Impala overhaul 2 years ago. It runs fine, I guess I'm just not quite finished with the job yet.

We should start a comical thread, "Show us pictures of your bench" , which could be an ongoing thread about what project you're working on, or if it's clean enough for your wife/girl friend to lay on and do a "pose", or a before and after of it messy and then clean....It could surpass the good morning thread... David and Ron have me beat on clean benches.

So a friend (who's got 40 years in HVAC business), came over and did my evaporator coil exchange out of the goodness of his heart. And, he was clearing out of a baby shower being held at his house..After all these years, 14, this is the 4th evap coil I've had to have installed. This one I went with a 4 row coil instead of a 3 row, as the outside unit is 4 ton and the 3 row is at it's upper limits to handle it. Man, does it ever feel nice and cool. The main problem was my TXV valve had stuck, or wouldn't open the full amount to let the freon gas flow freely. We also pulled out the squirrel cage blower fan and cleaned a huge (14 years worth) of dust out of it. Buying the evap coil on ebay, the TXV and drier/filter from Service Supply, then installing them myself, saved me at least $800. My split temp is now about 16 degrees, before we limped along at about 10 degree split. So many things to thank the Lord about. Having a friend come and help is a good thing to be thankful for.

Drew, get some rest.

They are saying rain is coming. praying for it.
