Good morning!!!!

Good Evening everyone!!!!

It was a long, but chore productive weekend with great weekend weather for puttering around the place. I anticipate a lot of Buppie's rain in my future for the next few days; starting tonight. My body is doing the usual protesting about working semi-used muscle groups.:(

Thomas- I hope the well problems are an easy quick and cheap fix. It seems that people living in the "northern tier" have more well problems than those wells in warmer climates. We have replaced everything in our +300' well system at least once. The worst problem was when out (pre-basement) well line froze up one January and remained frozen till around the time of the first sap run in late February. It was a long Winter. I was one of the happiest people on the planet the day I heard those first drops dripping from the faucets. We had a cellar that following Winter.;)

Ron- I hope the roblematic bloodwork is easily addressed.

"... I had 3 deerflies successfully outrun me and take a bite...I'm sure they spit it out at first taste."- Wngsprd Blackfly season is over and Deerfly Season has begun around here. Thankfully it was a bad year for Blackflies; good year for me.;):) I do not feel sorry for those biting insects who tap me.

Ted- I am happy to read that your son and DIL are out of harm's way. I was called "Safety ****" more than once at the drone site where I was a frequent flier when it came to safe & responsible drone operation. The FAA and LE should nail those irresponsible, ignorant, and "'entitled" owner/operators piloting while stupid. Short rant.

L4N- Thanks for sharing your video.

RNG- I hope the poison oak clears soon.

Ed- I hope the A/C gets repaired soon.

Drew- I am glad that you got help from your Friends. Thanks for sharing.

Kyle- Your neighbor is one lucky person. I put crocs right up there with flip-flops when it comes to footwear looking for an orthopedic surgeon. Good luck with your daughter.

Ted- Good luck with the light duty. I hope everything goes smoothly. I hope your wheeled office wheelchair is in good rolling order.

Roy- Good luck with the grill.

I was a "Weber Man" until I got the Big Green Egg. That was 30 years ago. I still have a functional Weber salvaged from all the Weber grills that I have owned over the years.

Tuesday is my scheduled physical with my primary physician. This should be interesting. I took no insulin at all yesterday and my blood sugars today were 103, 105, and 75. My calorie "burns" consistently exceed my calorie counts

I had a couple of surprises today, first my Kubota battery went dead. I noticed it seemed a little weak a couple of months ago, so I put a battery minder on it. I bought the minder last year, but hadn’t used it. It seemed to really perk up the battery. The battery is 10 years old. But today, the tractor turned over, slowly, just once. I took the battery to the autozone, the test came up dead.... new battery, works great. Just surprised it went so quickly.

Just before dark, I was working near the back door of my barn. My Kubota was parked just outside. My
Little buddy, a 14lb terrier, came running in, like he was running from something. I thought it was starting to rain, but no droplets on the Kubota, the dog was staring out toward a clump of trees, about 100 feet away. Then I noticed a coyote, about the size of my boxer, but skinny. Gray and black color. I looked down at my dog, then looked up, the coyote was gone. I’ve lived here 32 years, I’ve heard coyotes, but never seen one on the property. Until today. I was surprised at how he disappeared, I looked for a bit, but never caught sight of him again. My dog stared out into the field for a few minutes, then relaxed. But he stayed very close to me until we went in.

Yee-ha, yippie kie aye, woo-HOO! We got some rain...only .25", but hey, it was wet! That's it though...now back up in the low 90's and no more rain chances for the next 7 days...hopefully it will change.

Son is pretty much out of the danger zone now but they still only have the fire only 10% contained. The fire in northern NM keeps growing, now at 36,000 acres. Big fire!

Buppies and Jay, thanks for the condolences for returning to work. I'm sure I'll have a lot of catching up to do. I know there is a new Chief now, in process of 'learning' our system. He came from Maryland, was operations director for a large EMS system there. Hopefully we'll have some positive changes.

Drew, it's amazing that you got another 50# out of there. Was I correct in my understanding that you still have 2 rows to go?....maybe you found a new career path:cool2:

Going to start winding down now...hope I can sleep due to all the anticipation....

Oh, I forgot...Roy, Walmart has a great selection, better prices than HD.

I see there's a big fire in Philmont scout reservation.

Good evening all. 74F at the start, and it felt cooler then that. Mostly sunny sky in the morning cleared off later in the day, and a high temp of 87F. Chapel, then make breakfast, then work on van a/c and defog it's headlights. Cleaned the evaporator, then checked the Freon level which was ok. Headlights took a while but fairly pleased with results.
Prayers for all.

My step daughter said the same thing...

As far as today:

54 right now...and that's where it's going to stay all day. High probability of rain today too.

I'm up at this insane hour to go to work...I've got to be on a webinar originating in the UK (5-6 hours ahead of us in the eastern states). This is going to be a long long day...

/ Good morning!!!! #77,029
Good morning. A blanket of cloud from the east has slipped over the sun this morning, exactly as the forecasters promised. It should make working up the scaffold tower much more pleasant today. Yesterday the sun was roasting my rear, felt like I was the one being cooked too fast on a BBQ.

L4N, LS : It must feel strange for you two to go back to work after such a long time off. Keep stopping to have a good strech or you will soon be stiff from all that daydreaming over moving gravel and fences.

44 here with pouring rain. Only going up to a high of 50. Back to work for me. Light duty. Arm still hurts but is moveable, no heavy lifting for a while.

/ Good morning!!!! #77,031
56 and feels so nice outside...could also see the moon, rather than rain. Should hit 83 and start drying out...about another inch yesterday.

LS, glad you got some rain yesterday.

Dang, Roy, can't they tape the webinar and let you watch it when you're awake?

Hope first day back at works goes smoothly for you guys...Thomas, are your 12 days off over now, too?

/ Good morning!!!! #77,032
Good morning all, 59 this morning going to 77 and sunny. Been a while, sunny will be nice. Got to run to the store and the vet to pick up tick pills for the dog. Then need to install the window ac in our bed room. The guy is supposed to start the HP install Tuesday or Wednesday so I want it in before then. Hope to run up and talk to the guy that has the mill and see if he has figured out what he is going to do.

Mpham & LS take it easy and don't let them talk you into doing to much.

Roy, I was in lowes and HD Saturday and one of them will put your grill together for you for free. Don't remember witch one. Hope you find a good one.

Prayers for all in need. Ed

Mpham and LS take it slow and easy on first day back to work

Prayers for those in need

Roy that’s too early

.60 inches of rain last night, more than expected. 31.5 inches of rain so far this year, averaging over 6 inches a month. I keep putting in my order to the chef for one inch of rain on Wednesday night between 11pm and 4am, but somehow my order gets misplaced...

LS, can you imagine a consistent one inch of rain where you are? The desert would change entirely, maybe not for the good, balance of nature and all that. And then you'd be a slave to your lawn mower like we are! :D

Headed down to food pantry this morning with my handful of onions, then I think I may go disc the potato patch area I dug up.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 58° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 72° with mostly sunny skies. Weather was a washout until late in the day. But did make it to car show. Today my aunt and cousin are taking us on a picnic drive along the shore line of St Clair river and lake. Should be a nice laid back day. When we lived on east side it was a good drive to take on a Sunday afternoon. But that was over 45 years ago. Expect to see lots of changes.

Roy, hope you get some rest after webinar.

LS, have a good day at work.

Irv, 10 years on a battery. Your doing good. But they always go bad when you do not have time to change it.

Mpham, take it easy on the arm.

ED, careful getting that room AC installed.

Prayers for all those in need.

Good Morning All.

Because of rain heavy at time late morning postpone water line until tomorrow, and if rains tomorrow postpone until Wednesday,no need to work in those kind condition dealing with muck pumps trying to keep ditch clear etc.

weather forecast for this week is marvelous, much lower humidity and no rain until next weekend.

Need to open all the doors of the sheds and barn to let things dry out. The first year I forgot to do that in my barn woodshop
I had green mold all over the walls. What a mess to clean. Now, fans and open doors.

Roy, I sure hope that company appreciates what you do for them. Talk about going the extra mile.
All here who want Roy to get a 100 percent pay raise, raise your hands.
(thousands of hands raised!)
Well, we've got that covered. ;)

I'm off to pick peas, about 65 out. Perfect.

/ Good morning!!!! #77,038
66 degrees going for a high of 87, and a 50% chance of rain today, so I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope it does rain.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 88F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

Hope those returning to work after long injury related absences can taper up and stay healthy. It’s all too easy to get carried away going after what used to be and end up going backwards down the recovery ladder.

Another 45 gallons of 3% glyphosate put down yesterday morning, about a quarter of the acreage covered. I wonder how effective it’ll be, though, as the thatch from all that tall grass is pretty thick in some areas, and I can’t help but wonder what kind of nasty weeds it’s hiding. Then again, maybe it’ll starve whatever’s under there for sunlight, and stifle its growth. Hey, a guy can hope, right?

Revived the headlight on the big dirt bike yesterday with a new bulb and a few spritzes of DeOxIt into the handlebar switch. In true DeOxIt form, it made no difference when first applied, but after working while I had lunch, the electrics were back to normal. Saved me from having to disassemble something with tiny ball bearings and springs inside, a recipe for disaster.

I’ll be out for another ride once the sun is up and before it gets hot, then I’ll see about what’s needed to replace the fuel lines on the old Honda Trail 90 purchased last year. It was leaving a spot on the garage floor until I drained the gas, and peering into the fuel tank showed a fair amount of rust, so simply changing the lines may not make any difference. Likely I’ll have to reline the tank as well, but one step at a time.

Hope everyone’s week gets off to a smooth start.

57 this morning, NW breeze, cloudy and feels quite cool. Nice day and week coming up though.
Steppe, you’re right about the snakes around the Dismal Swamp. What isn5 there is easier to list than what is, gators, cougars, red wolves, coyotes, bobcats, four poisonous snake species, spiders, you name it.
I’ve got to replace the cheapie grill I’ve been using, actually it was free with my deck Sunsetter. My old Thermos grill finally got too bad to use after only 31 years. I’m looking at floor models around town, they’re starting to sell them off and they’re already assembled and way cheaper.
