Good morning!!!!

Good morning all. Patchy fog this morning and 66 going to 81 and mostly cloudy. Got up late this morning and had to take the trash out to the curb. Need to call the machine tool co and get a couple small things straight. The draw bar is way short and lacks 1 1/2" from reaching the collets, (tool holder) and the powerfeed is not the one listed for this machine and the book with it is for yet another. :( Have a Kennidy tool cabinet with a nice maple top and because of the directions I offset the mill to clear the cabinet. Now I find out that was not needed. :( Extra holes in my cabinet and maple top. :( Ok time to be :) now.

Eric and Don, To an extent with a lathe and mill and know how you can make almost any metal part that will fit on them. With the exception of molded parts. I have a friend that has a foundry at home and pours aluminum parts for turbos of some kind and then machines them and sells them.

Have a great day, Prayers all around. Ed

A couple of them ears of corn still in the husk would have tasted good after being grilled on the BBQ while I was smoking a steak.

Ron, you would have needed a lot of papain or some tenderizer to eat most of that corn. It went from feed corn tough on the left to not bad on the right.
But only one ear. The one on the far right was too young, but would have made a wonderful pickled corn. I don't know how to do it though.
The two ears of yellow corn were really over the hill. Maybe if I had soaked them...;)

I'm with you, I love corn. I occasionally throw them in a pail of water to soak then on the grill.

So yesterday was internet/network day. I bought a Netgear AC1200 cable modem and a Netgear AC1900 range extender from my local Walmart and set them up. Testing the extender worked well but wouldn't quite be acceptable inside the cottage.
So I ran a Cat 6 enet cord I had from the modem to the extender and placed the extender in access point mode. All is well!
The overall house speed seems a little slower than the Comcast modem to me but that could be me. It's perfectly acceptable.
We have the voice line with the original Comcast/xfinity modem which I don't have now. I'll have to research how to have that work again but low on my priorities.
Girls move in on Wednesday so today I'll have to bury the enet and coax line from main house to cottage and get their main closet completed.
Been raining here and with no room to park inside yet, the Kubota and the John Deere looks forlorn sitting outside. Maybe I can get my shop stuff in some semblance of order. I've been playing "what box is my needed tool in?" Since we moved in.

To all. A good day.
Lenny

Don, If your Cart ran good at your old place. You should have no trouble making a couple of 6 mile round trips to the gardens without needing a charge.

No corn here yet. Even imported from the south. Rule of thumb here is corn should be knee high by July 4th.

We switched our land line from Comcast to Xfinity Mobile. Then purchased a Panasonic cordless phone to make/receive all the calls. If you have iPhones you do not need to purchase new phones if they are unlocked.

Good, I also found a golf cart/bicycle shortcut that should cut at least 2 miles off the trip.

Since this is a modified Fast golf cart community I sold my slow 13 MPH Camouflage knobby tired golf cart to the buyer of the farm. Maybe for Christmas I'll get something these old people can see with their limited vision and is modified to go at least 30mph and is street legal here.
They have a good resell bulletin board and for sale picture book in the 2 community centers where some good deals can be picked up on everything from furniture to tools to golf carts.

I was just going to order my HF tool box this morning but it went off sale. Now I'll have to wait till the July 4th sale.

30 mph in a golf cart.
You are a lot closer to the dealer that you bought your last cart from.

Yes I am going 30 in the car and they are staying ahead of me.
Yes I'm about 1.25 hours closer to the dealer. The dealer knows how to "tweak" them to go faster.

At 5 a.m. this morning it was 81 degrees. Then a fast moving "cold"? front passed through, dropped .01" to .02" inch of rain and dropped the temperature to 70 degrees before 7 a.m.

I wish I knew as much as some of you about this computer stuff. I have a "Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router - Premium Edition" and an "ARRIS TM902" modem? supplied by Charter Communications (now known as Spectrum). Most of the time it works OK, but once or twice a day, I get a message on the screen that I've lost contact with the Internet. Since I have both of those things, along with my printer and speakers plugged into a power strip, I've learned that I can simply turn off the power strip for a couple of minutes, turn it back on, wait a few minutes for the Router and Modem to get all powered up, and everything works again. Incidentally, when the Router and Modem are not powered, our house phone, also provided by Spectrum, does not work. But the TV does still work.:confused3::confused3:
