Hard to imagine that a generic match couldn't be found at your local farm store or NAPA. If you have the old one, take it with you and ask them to find a similar cap. If you don't have the old one, take some basic measurements of the filler neck and see if they can match an appropriate cap.

I have the same lawn tractor and had the same issue this spring. Turned out to be corrosion on one of the ignition switch terminals. Cleaned it up as well as possible and problem went away for a month or so. Ended up just replacing the switch with a $10 unit off Ebay.
