Sorry to bring this up again. A few days ago I started a post then edited it away only because I couldn't find how to delete it. I hope I didn't disrupt or break any posting rules. I hope it is okay to post my question again. I'm trying to get an idea what price to ask for a set of Blackhawk...

Cab door storage or AC retrofit!

I store my Curtis cab doors by hanging them from their hinges, inside a shipping container. The doors are not very heavy so each ceiling attachment are just 3 screw in eyelets with a 1/4" dia. bolt and nuts. The door hinge easily slides over the end if the bolt. The doors are out of the way with...

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

Unchained R4s aren't that good for winter traction, I believe unchained turf tires do much better. Here's a previous discussion about R4's vs turfs in snow. https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/threads/what-tires-work-best-in-the-snow-for-my-kubota-bx-turf-or-r4s.294234/page-2

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

I kind of thought the same thing when I first decided to leave the chains on and would have taken them off if they started to be a problem. Because they are 2 link ladder chains, I believe is why they are not tough on my lawn or gravel driveway and I don't see any damage on the garage concrete...

    Storing 3pt snowblower

After removing my Tacoma from winter storage (locked shipping container) the 3 pt snow blower gets stored there until late fall. Tractor with installed snow blower are parked in a locked garage when not in use. I've never stored my 3 pt snow blower outside.

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

I noticed folks mentioning they take their chains off at the end of winter. Does anyone just leave them on all year long ? I've never taken mine chains (2-Link Ladder) off the rear tires of my B7800 since 2005. I only drive on pavement during the winter. During non winter months I'll grade the...

Best way to get diesel into the tractor?

Another vote for the 2 D battery pump. On my B7800 a 5 gal can just fits between loader arm and engine compartment. and the 2d battery pump is perfect choice for me.

    Snow Chain Recommendation

I only use rear tire chains (2 link ladder on R4s) on my B7800. I'm sure front tire chains would really help increase my traction and steering control but I don't dare take the chance of causing mechanic damage to the front drive gearing. My Kubota dealer recommended not to use front tire chains...

Did the contractors quote a price for underground service too ? I recommend going underground if possible and not have to worry about 900 ft of overhead line repair due to storm damage.

Gas string trimmer aka weed eater recommendations wanted

Highly recommend Echo PAS 2620. We have an older Echo PAS 266 and a Echo PAS-2620 they both have been super reliable units. We love the versatility of switching attachments. Also have an Echo CS-400 chainsaw that has also been super reliable.

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

Is it tuesday and Wednesday we're getting a nor'easter ? I can't wait. Kind of a weird winter, seems like were getting most of our snow in March. I don't mind snow removal. I like it much better than mowing the lawn in the summer, when it's hot, and muggy.

Best 3 trucks you've ever owned.

2007 Tacoma, 2 wheel drive, 4 cyl. 5 speed, manual roll up windows. The most basic no frills Tacoma you could get in 2007. I bought this truck new and it currently has about 35,000 miles on it. It's stored inside every winter. Gas mileage is pretty good, I actually got 32 mpg once after allot of...

    driveway marker spacing distances

I like the idea of using a hammer drill. I also prefer snowblower over snowplow, and have been using a 3 pt snowblower, looking over my shoulder, for the past 18 years. driveway marker spacing distances

For snow removal I use a Kubota B7800 with a Curtis Cab and 3 pt. rear mount snow blower. Snow removal is usually done at night and I have very good lighting from my tractor. About a month ago I just started using left and right rear view mirrors to help me guide my snow blower down the driveway...

Good movies,,, well there are a few.......

The wife and I just watched the movie Fisherman's Friends and really enjoyed it. The movie is based on a true story. Getting too old to step up 22”

I've had my B7800 since 2005 and that 22 inch step up is more noticable the older I get. I've been searching the tractor forums looking for ideas in adding a step. So glad to find this thread. I like that idea of having a step you can put both feet on it at the same time. I don't own a welder so...

    Relocate seat on Kubota B7800

I realize this thread is about 10 years old, but thought I'd add the recent seat location modification I did on my B7800. Odd or interesting things found out in the woods

What an interesting find, I wonder how long that old crosscut has been hanging there. A couple of years ago I was wandering thru a section of forest that my dad and cut firewood in back in the 60's. I came across this old pulp hook I think we may have left behind. The wooded handle has...

    Land Scape Rake?

The old dump hay rake would work really well for small limbs. They do not tear up the ground like the landscape rake. As a kid back in the 60's (about 10-12 years old) I use to ride on the seat of a dump rake in hay fields and would operate the dump feature with a foot pedal mechanism while my...

Single speed or Variable speed angle grinder ?

I do not weld but thought this would be a good place to ask about angle grinders. I'm looking for my first angle grinder and originally thought a variable speed a/g would be better than a single speed, but do I really need variable speed ? I'd use the a/g to cut off steel (probably 1/4"...

    2 wheel tractor options ?

I am in the market for a 2 wheel tractor that I can attach a snow blower head (preferably 2 stage), a field/brush mower head and possibly a finish mower head. I like the idea of having one power unit with a variety of attachments, but my primary interest is using it for snow blowing. I have...

Why no Front Mount Mower Deck ?

I have often wondered why there isn't a front mount mower attachment available for the Kubota Quick Hitch System as is used on the B series Kubota tractor ? Ventrac 3400Y

I am looking for an additional tractor (about 25 HP) for snow blowing and mowing, and was considering a Ventrac 3400Y but it appears the 4500 series Ventrac is more popular. I currently have a Kubota B7800 with cab and a 64" rear mount snow blower that I've been using as my sole snow removal...

Recommendation for Good Riding Lawnmower in Today's Market

I recently went from a typical mid-mount mower garden tractor to a front mount mower machine, what a difference. Front mount mower deck can be placed in the service position in less than a minute, so it's easy to clean out clips or change out the mower blades. The front wheels of the garden...

    Riding Mower suggestion

The Husqvarna R322T AWD with Combi 103 (41") mowing deck might be a consideration. It has articulating steering which allows it to be very nimble mowing around objects. It's all wheel drive which gives it excellent traction on steep slopes, or damp ditches. Even though it has a really small...

    Front Mount Mowers

I just recently got the Husqvarna R322T AWD. It's a front mount mower with flip up deck, rear steering and all wheel drive. For as long as I can remember, before getting the R322T, I used nothing but your standard garden tractor with mid-mount mower. After using the R322T this past summer...

    Snow chains question

My Two Link Chains look about the same as yours and I have R4 tires also. Some cross links falling between the lugs. So yes, they are not all straight across. I cut off all the dangling pieces. I do not have any liquid in my tires, so for installing chains I let all the air out of my tires, then...

    GR2120 grass collector

I am thinking about getting a Kubota GR2120 to replace my aging Wheel Horse mowers, a 416-H and a 414-8, both using 42 inch rear discharge decks. I like the way the rear discharge decks spread out the grass clipping. I also have a WH 48 inch side discharge deck that I've stopped using just...

    B7800 w/cab fueling

    I have a B7800 with a Curtis Cab. After owning the B7800 for 5 years I finally got a LA402 loader installed.
