Looking for Lane Shark feedback from end users

Your description of 160 ac, overgrown trails, forestland might imply a need for ...who knows what! So many unknowns. Is much of it some thing you can bushhog? What makes you think you need a FEL mounted cutter? Do you need a dozer to get things to where a utility tractor stands a chance of...

    Diff lock not working

Massey Ferguson 1740M Hydro: LOSS OF POWER when hot!

BOY! That is a good question given this puzzling history. It might not be going so far as to kick into what we think of as a "limp mode" well known with cars and trucks and yet might be having a "cut back the power" mode of some sort ... probably described nowhere in public literature. Wonder if...

Massey Ferguson 1740M Hydro: LOSS OF POWER when hot!

Has to be incredibly frustrating! I have not priced injectors but no matter what they do, $4000 for 3 is beyond absurd. I'd think some one has the ability to test the injectors. I'm skeptical that the turbo is at fault given your overall description of the symptoms -- like running the AC in...

Mid-mount mower options exist for a MF 1526, it has or can have a mid-PTO to drive one, etc. You'll have to chase that yourself if you conclude you want/need one. Before you get into that, I will try to clarify a couple of things to help. A finish mower is generally not equipped with...

    Kubota B3350 wont start.... AGAIN

My understanding is (and I know it is this way on the smaller BX Kubotas as well as a some John Deeres and others) there is a series sequence of 'safety' switches between the "ignition" switch and the solenoid primary/trigger. Not sure how many on a given model. Getting continuity sequentially...

How light was that brush? I'm a little surprised that you lost hammers in the situation you describe. L3301 misfire on startup

Not had that happen. Agree. Probably BriManley had too long a pto shaft ... the rest of that explanation is that when the sliding/telescoping pto shaft is too long you raise the attachment with a very strong 3pt hitch and when the "too long shaft" bottoms out (unable to telescope further) the 3pt keeps putting more...

I have a BX2200 also. How big a snowblower to drive with it? We have had so little snow here in Southern MD for the last decade I've had no need for a blower here. I do use a 5ft PTO driven rear snow blower (on an older, somewhat larger B2150) up in the mountains.

Yes, the news media quoting wind chill numbers as if they are temperatures is one of the ugly diseases of our time (in my disgruntled opinion.) Any fool knows it feels colder with wind, we do not need such numbers , and about 1/3 of the population goes around quoting them as if they are...

Nice, nice, VERY nice. As usual I recommend mixing your #2 diesel fuel 50/50 with #1 kerosene. Additives work to some extent and fuel SHOULD be treated in your area... however you probably had "summer fuel" in it and it takes awhile to get fresh fuel all the way through. Being in your area I...

Best Way to Provide DC to Sprayer?

Most tractors have at least one wire in the back end of the sheet metal which stays hot anytime the engine is running. My various older Kubotas do. Oh geeze! Just re-read you original description. I would bet that it was much colder than "the 20's" during the several hours before you tried to start it. It sounds that way ... except that diesel fuel will not gel at 20 degrees. More like 10 or 11 degrees. I too would use a mix of kerosene and diesel, #1 with #2 , as all serious heavy equipment operators do in cold climates. "Frozen" does not happen but gelling can happen...just not at 20...

    2003 GC2300 broken radiator.

There should be some radiator shops not too far from you. However, I got a new replacement radiator from Amazon for a Kubota BX2200. You should be able to order one for your GC. If it is TOO high $, then go hunt a radiator shop.

Massey Ferguson 1740M Hydro: LOSS OF POWER when hot!

Could be (clogged suction filter) but, if it is that, it is hard to picture why that would wait 40 minutes of run time before becoming noticeable. Maybe happens as the hyd fluid gets warm enough to cause the issue ??

Massey Ferguson 1740M Hydro: LOSS OF POWER when hot!

Yes, really !! The OP said the dealer had had it for around 4 weeks, I think, and was baffled. A baffled dealer does not end a warrantee. The Regional Service Reps are in place for those things AND they have access to backup help beyond what the dealer does. The OP needs to request /insist...

Massey Ferguson 1740M Hydro: LOSS OF POWER when hot!

Oh No ! I did not mean that you should change your hydro fluid again ! I do not think that is needed nor would it do any good. You certainly used very well recognized hyd fluid and not accidentally some other fluid. The issue MIGHT relate to the hydrostatic drive but that is just one more...

Massey Ferguson 1740M Hydro: LOSS OF POWER when hot!

Any chance that some accidental "other fluid" might have been put in the hydro system? I'm not talking just a brand difference or claims of some wonderful performance of the OEM trans fluid, I mean some totally different oil not intended for a hydrostatic transmission?? If you changed it...

Massey Ferguson 1740M Hydro: LOSS OF POWER when hot!

Good point -- maybe some aspect of the mower gets hot after about 40 min of usage and begins to load down the tractor or at least increase the load on it. Gearbox on the mower ? Something else on the load side rather than the tractor itself? Another afterthought: Maybe the turbo is not...

    R1 VS R4 massey 1547

Certainly the R1 tires are much better for what you are doing than R4s. The 1547 was sold in both 2 WD and 4WD versions. Do you have 4 WD ? Obviously you need it regardless of what tires you are using.

    GC2300 oil in water

Oil coolers are separate from radiators. Usually in front of the radiator. How much oil are you seeing in the radiator? You had the GC for a long time or just got it? ... Knowing very little to nothing about your case, I would have to guess you may have a blown head gasket. Many repair...

    FRONT AXLE ISSUE ! - Massey 1500 1600 1700 series tractors (ie 1648 / 1652, etc)

Hey guys -- what does "Bump" mean in TBN forums? How does it get done?

    L3700 starting problem

Yes, and the multi-battery circumstance definitely complicates debugging the issue. The OP's Kubota L3700 would just be a single battery. He probably has added issues down there in St Croix with salt water, salty air and corrosion galore. Ouch on his having to pay $200 for a battery.

    L3700 starting problem

In the original post you said you tried jumper cables from another battery and it did not work. That COULD mean that your old battery (at least one cell of it) was so bad the that the jumper cable battery could not overcome that problem. That's a little rare but I have seen it a couple of time...

    L3540 hydro power questions

Have you made sure the air intake path is 100% clear? My first guess is that air intake is being restricted somehow. Next guess would be fuel flow restriction. Filters and all that...

    L3700 starting problem

Yes, BUT the OP said that it did " a couple of labored revolutions" when he tried to start it. If it did that , then tapping it with a piece of steel rod or something solid will NOT cause it to crank rapidly. I have a B2150 that I fairly often have to tap the starter with a steel rod or...

    L3700 starting problem

Probably cable connections. Unbolt and clean all of the cable connections not just at the battery but at the frame, the starter, etc. Since you had it turn "a few labored revolutions" that means your solenoid is engaging, which is good. COULD be a starter gone bad, but I'd bet it is degraded...
