Tractor
Kubota L4400, B2401
Hopefully there are some other B2401 owners out there to share their experiences with the tractor. Doesn't seem like an overly popular model because it's gear driven. I just purchased one to supplement my L4400. I'm really enjoying it so far.

Those are super useful and versatile machines. I have 3 older B2150s which I obviously love. [While much older I think the B2150 is roughly the same size as yours.] One is HSD and the other 2 are stick. I actually prefer the stick EXCEPT for tight quarters lawn work. The B2150 sticks have a low range, amounting to a creeper gear, which is just right for snowblowing. Does your B2401 have a creeper or low range?

Yes, it has low range. It's a 3x9 transmission. L M and H range and you can choose 1st, 2nd or 3rd for each range. 1 Low is creeping, barely moves.

My son has a little B2410 BiDirectioanl steering. Bought over 15 years ago new, it has been a great piece of equipment. For those that don't know, the 'bi-directional' steering lets the front tires turn 14* faster than the rear during turns; great for mowing around trees, etc..

(Lesson Learned) He lent it out to a friend who had no tractor equipment experience, and obviously no concern for anyone else' equipment. The friend let the tractor get too hot or something. Who really knows, the friend disappeared after that incident. The tractor quit running so he simply walked off and left in out in a field for months.

Son had it picked up with a wrecker and had it totally rebuilt, bottom to top, inside and out including a complete engine rebuild. Meantime he bought a B2630 for his use.

I've encourage him to sell the B2410. It's a super little starter tractor for someone with a small garden or large lawn. I think you're going to enjoy your B2401 very much!
