So far about 6" of hype. Around 1" per hr.

Light rain and 35, now calling for about a half inch total of rain, that is way better than the two inches that were predicted.

Thundersnow strikes Ohio and Maryland

headline on cnn. Must be a slow news day...
rain started back up, cold and yukky out

replacement goldenrod diesel fuel bowl came in today, to replace the leaking one
that was defective from the very beginning due to doofus installing it way too tight, cracking it.
Unit comes with drain installed, installer decided he could do it better, took it apart, gooped it up,
tightened it down too much, crack, and left it for me.
Ah, real craftsmanship....
Slowly got worse when goop no longer covered enlarging crack so tired of dripping diesel while
I pumped. Took me a long time to remember to order the part.

drove an hour in the dark this morning down to New Bern, next small city down the Coast, a very nice town with a thriving medical services area around the local hospital, which is not in the same chain as the ones up by me. So nice to be in a smaller office, not a cattle roundup like my previous place.
Even my primary doc whose salary is paid by the local chain said quietly they had heard very good things about that ENT office.

time for a movie and a nap

Not sure I would believe CNN even for a snow report.....

It stopped snowing, little break on the radar, then some freezing stuff later.

Freezing rain and sleet between 30 and 31 driveway cleared yucky day indeed

Drew- Enjoy your nap this PM, good luck with the MRI tomorrow and I hope there are no - surprises. Going into those tubes does not bother me. With those provided foam ear plugs I can tune out a lot of that :censored: banging pretty well and I can actually go to “sleep” or some kind of Jayzone state.

……. Hope you guys out east are similarly disappointed.- Paul. This has been a disappointing Winter so far- one decent 10” snow and maybe a 7.” I have not been reduced to bitter-casting yet. I have two more months of snow possibilities. March may provide a surprise or two;); even early April. In a way a boring Winter may be a good thing considering Mr. Knee here.

Winter Storm Petra is pretty strong considering the thunder snow, but it does not need the unnecessary news hype. I can understand the school closings because of icing. I bet supermarkets are zoos with the news generated hysteria.

At least the govt names hurricanes, i refuse to acknowledge names given by a private weather company. Next they will name every cloud and f*rt.

BEF- Thanks for the laugh. I would think that naming Winter Storms heightens the anxieties of those who equate named Winter storms with named tropical storms like hurricanes and typhoons. Despite my challenges with weather related stuff I rarely watch TWC even though they do/did have some decent ProMets.

Where/how do they (TWC) come up with these names? Quianna? She's next. I'll bet Quianna becomes a big "Wet One". No body like wet ones; Messy stuff with which to deal.
