It seems fair to me to charge $25 to find/buy a box, pack, label, tape, and drive to post office for $25 when selling for someone else.
I am not saying it isn’t fair per se, but, for example, if it is $25 for a small item like the drafting tools set, then $25 for the roll of copper ”wire”, then $25 for the HP projector, which can all probably fit into one large Flat Rate box, that extra $50 vig starts looking a little less palatable on my end…

some car stuff

there are test Cybertrucks running around Austin now. Anyone seen one?
I guess folks who bought Hummers and other unnecessary vehicles will love it

lot of headwind for electric pickups. Many articles on how towing just about anything drains the battery
dry almost twice as fast. And the charging system is currently a joke based on what the predictions are for future use.
If I owned a retail delivery truck though, like my friend with the coffee business, I'd seriously look at a plug in EV

if it's as easy as my golf cart, fine, plug it in when I get home. It's the distance driving that needs far more infrastructure than we have.

my goddaughter's pilot husband with his R1T Rivian with over
800hp and 900 torque, 0-60 in 3 seconds, has been very happy with his truck/toy.

Tesla just redesigned the model 3, apparently made significant improvements, and now they are less expensive.
Lot of competition now.
For many if not most of us, I think hybrid makes a lot more sense.

I'm sure our government knows what's best for us
and we won't have any problems making this switch to EV................
Scandinavia is going almost all EV and it apparently has worked there
North America has huge countries. Europe has much smaller countries, except Russia, China
and for sure our friends in Australia. Australia, Canada and the US are very similar; a really long way from one side to the other in a land
that is always friendly.

Tesla has made about a hundred trucks so far, I think the release is next month
Waiting for the first one with trade racks and ladders. Unlikely.

i think this guy would have been better off using the A to tow the trailer with the F on it…

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly…).

41.5 F going to low 60s, partly mostly day.

admin running around went well, hit the thrifts and did well, weigh-in was good—- down to 194! Had lunch out (taco salad, no beans, dog gets the taco bowl 😁). Went up the woodlot to walk dog, Mrs felt a little adventurous so we hiked up and found the eastern property line and hiked around most of the southern property line. Most of, because the last stretch went up a rather steep incline and she only had on her slip-on sneakers, and the sun was going down, and… we got back to our normal route without any incidents or accidents. Sound the little pond that feeds our branch:

IMG_0726.jpeg

It is maybe about 50’x60’, give or take. If you zoom, you can see where there are the remains of a deck or swim platform or something — that is about how much of the pond comes into our property — I took the photo from the other side because of the dense undergrowth. Also found the spring that feeds a trickle that also feeds into our branch — it adds up!

So we got a good workout going over hill and Dale,Bailey was one happy pupper having a chance to explore brand-new territory, and we got home while it was still light.

owner of the local tool rental is planning to revamp the business over the winter, maybe even expand, and said he’d be looking for someone to work part-time come spring when things would be done in earnest, so that was nice. Part-time is good, what with all the projects and tasks I have on the to-do list!plus it will be after the tax-season work, which will also be good. Just have to see what happens…

this morning will be pressure-washing the storage bins we got the other day while waiting for weather to warm up sufficiently from!Ra to go up to woodlot to split/stack more wood while I mill more boards for cabin shed. Never a dull moment!

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Kilroy, not half the range, one third under load. wow, wonder when the Feds will step in and require
some more accurate advertising under alternative conditions. Maybe not, they are all gung ho EV

well.....if you had a boat and a lake an hour away, it would be
the nicest tow truck in the world.
They didn't talk about what the cost of that electricity guzzling tow trip was...
though likely still less than gas or propane.

I wonder if hydrogen cars are being held back by the vested interests? Only in one area of California I think for now.
if they collected all the water produced by all of us driving hydrogen cars, would
our water shortage be solved?

nice pond Kilroy
any critters or fish in there?

The government is your friend hand has your best interests at heart…

And the way things are going, all the EV’s will be made in China. So who is China paying off?

I know that when I would vacation with friends int the adirondacks, I would fill my station wagon to the point of almost-zero visibility except for windshield and front door windows, then hitch up boat, which would then be packed solid with more gear and sHollie’s, no doubt far exceeding rated capacity for all three vehicles. And I would get about 9MPG hauling up to the mountains from sea level NJ and about 14 on the way back. I attribute this to the aerodynamics of the boat on the trailer, because I have hauled the wagon with the same packing and also stuff on the deer carrier and gotten over 25 MPG that way. One time filled car like that, no deer hauler and got 29 MPG. So that extra stuff behind really makes a difference, at least with the amazingly aerodynamic 90’s Caprice wagon. WITH THE TBI 350 — you know, one of those “wasteful clunkers” that needed to be junked about a decade ago, according to the government that has our best interests at heart…

I miss that car.

Good morning, 41 going to 66 looks like some rain in the FC tomorrow

Post office run this morning. Plan to collect all oversize pieces of fire wood in preparation for splitting. Also stack some more wood in the wood shed. Only have room for one to two rows more.
Mostly it did not close the freezer door but it used it as a step. A tree had damaged the wagon long ago and parts for those axels are not around.

Daughter sends many pictures. Nice to be able to follow the trip. Looking forward to the rest of the trip. She sent this old tractor yesterday

Good Morning
It’s 39 with a high of 62 under partly cloudy skies for another dry day today.
Yesterday kept me busy all day, started with moving my departed friends airplane back to his hangar from the shop that inspected it for the buyers, hopefully it will settle in the next week or so.
Back home for another Teams meeting with DHS, then finally glued up a speaker. Disassembled and cleaned an old fishing reel for a friend, it’s as good as new now. That was a first for me, I was surprised how well made it was.

Today will start with a trip to Specialty Wood for some Baltic Birch plywood, I keep emptying my rack. Once I get it cut up and glued, I’ll have to run to Home Depot for more glue, they seem to have the best price.

I have had a hybrid car in the fleet since 2005, when I bought my first Prius. That one went 275k over 12 years before I traded it in for a Prius v (Station wagon). I still have that one, but have entered a new era with the Prime (plug in version). The only downside of the Prime is that the cargo area floor is about 3” higher reducing the available height for storage. Otherwise I get the advantage of EV operation, with the unlimited range of the hybrid. It still has over 3/4 of the tank of gas that it left the dealer with.

I looked at that "coper wire" yesterday, it is coper tubing like for a waterline for a ice maker in a refrigerator. both ends are sealed so it is in good shape. The owner, Tonya has put her dad in Hospice this week and her assistant is taking over her name is Rosiland and can be reached at the number on their web site Home

She said it is not $25 per lot, but per address. they take the stuff to UPS and have them box it and send it off. Call her for specific question about the "Lincoln online estate auction."

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 46 to start going to 63 ! Last good day before the rain and wind !

i think this guy would have been better off using the A to tow the trailer with the F on it…
Kilroy, really interesting, I think you are correct with that statement ! :)

Looks like a good day for a long walk with some foliage pictures taken before the rain starts !

Hope all have a safe day ! 🙏

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 4:53AM. Mainly sunny. Near record high temperatures. High 93F. Winds light and variable.

My buddy and I, with the help of a zoom call to the builder of the new wiring harness, got the old harness removed from the van engine yesterday. Huge sigh of relief, but now the detective work starts figuring out wiring coming back from other parts of the car.

Headed south again in a few minutes, getting an insomnia inspired early start. Van and trailer pretty much full. It will be interesting to see if there's enough traction on the gravel driveway to get up the hill. That may delay the departure a bit while I wait for a neighbor to come over and pull me up the rest of the way with a tractor.

Other than that, I'm hoping for a smooth trip, though I'm not quite sure how I'll deal with the short driveway on the other end. Somehow it'll all work out...

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Good morning! 62˚F heading to 82˚, clear skies, with a West or North breeze. Fri and Sat will be in the 90s again.

Very productive day yesterday even though my knee was giving me grief. Cleaned most of the siding of the estate house and cleaned the inside as much as we can with the online items laying around.

The lawyer is really good and will handle any real estate transaction that we already have a buyer for saving the estate thousands of what the Realtor would charge. We will be showing the House Sunday to a back-up buyer who came to the estate sale and we want to make it look as good as it can with the online auction still going on.

The rental knee machine was delivered yesterday. Insurance does not cover it, but it was highly recommended by the surgeon. It keeps the knee flexible after surgery. I will keep it for 3 weeks until I start out-patient rehab.

Morning all, 39 going up to 68 and partly cloudy
Got outdoor movie screen ready but had a lot of day job to do and son to drive around so that was about it for me.

Need to split wood today, way behind for the later winter stack using dry ash rounds.

Need to call some relatives that I havn't talked to in a while.

Be well,

Wife had a great PT therapist come to the house for the first few weeks to do bending and standing/walking exercises. Took time to get the full range of motion back. The machine can be helpful in the beginning I would think. After my motorcycle accident and body cast for months I could have used that machine for sure. Back then it was on me to do with little help. Placed the back of the knee over the back of a chair and hooked a book bag to the foot and loaded books into it based on the level of pain I could stand

anyone else sign a fuel oil prepay and what did you pay per gallon? I only need about 300 gallons, so can't qualify for big discounts.
275 tank is full now, but will need a fill up end of December. I'm on automatic delivery but who knows what that would cost at spot rates
Only time I did prepay, it burned me as fuel prices went down. Been 20 some years ago. Towards the end of burning oil, I was using offroad diesel, as it was a good bit less than heating oil delivered. I'd fill 4 cans at a time and pour it in the tank.

was 36 for the low this morning. what's left of the leaves on the back tree is pretty in the sun.

Ken, was always a question when owning a farm about using the farm tank for my truck, which really
wasn't a business farm truck since I wasn't farming for money or profit.
Was an issue early on with my diesel Ram.
I wonder if there are areas where the municipality hires inspectors to go dip tanks
and confirm the fuel color. You always think about it, but short of responding to a complaint, are they
even allowed on your property to find out?
No one knows that fuel isn't going into your farm equipment.

has anyone had their diesel tank dipped by an inspector on the road?

now for the fun stuff
twin one barrel Offenhauser carbs on an Offenhauser manifold. Flat head V8, not a lot of hp but sounded
nice. twin glass packs, very mellow
as soon as my brother pulled in he said forget the ride, it will be too rough on your neck. Ok...
so I took pics instead. No power brakes. No disc brakes. No power steering.
Hurst shifter, fuzzy dice tire valve caps
Older restoration, Ferrari red it seems, very pretty,

This thing will stick out like sore thumb locally. My nephew will need to be on his best behavior.
