Echo 2511T is an amazing saw!

I have a slight chainsaw addiction because I cut a LOT of wood...View attachment 848351 I only buy pro saws and tend to stick to Husqvarna and Stihl but have a few Echos, too. I recently picked up the Echo 2511T and it has became my absolute favorite saw to run. It is so small and light it feels like a toy but it's a little speed demon that will eat through anything you throw at it. Being so small, it's very easy to pack around everywhere with you. If you need a small and light saw, I highly recommend you give this saw a look....

Does it have an annoying delay on the trigger like the Dewault 20v saws? Dewault is the only E-saw I've used, and my buddy got it a few years ago and I'd rather use a gasser saw for anything more than mild pruning or my M28 sawzall with a brush blade for pruning.

But as I'm getting older (and weaker), I'm interested in alternatives.

This is a gas saw

Which chain and bar is good for the 2511T? Apparently, there's a nano version, a regular chain, and some guys are using 3/8 but .43 in place of .50 with a different bar?

My dealer wants more $ for the nano and bar, so now its like $550

/ Echo 2511T is an amazing saw! #145
The Nano version is only $10 more .

What bar length? I just checked one of the dealers I use. With echo bar in 325 nano 12" 510 shipped.

Goes up 10 for 14 and 10 more for 16.

You can get 10% off of that too. If you use his code or ex-military. I have standing 10% off due to military service in past.

HD had the saw + battery + charger $499 for the DCS-2500T ($560 tool only, yes more - new list price); $660 for the same thing in the nano (DCS-2500TN) - $570 tool only.

I've had this now for a few days and wrote a bit about it here.

Yep. $509 is $10 more than $499. That includes the Nano bar chain and sprocket.

(list price from Echo site) I got mine for 15% off during Echo sale.

I was in need of saw and jumped ship. Bought a Stihl 194T new from Stihl dealer for $422.99 with 14” bar. I didn’t want to wait for Echo 15% sale in 5 months.
This test also helped me go back to Stihl.

What’s the weight/power difference between the two saws?

Stihl 194 is 31.8cc and 7.3 pounds, Echo 2511 is 25cc and 5.2 pounds so not at all apples to apples. Not sure of the HP for each but the Echo is obviously much lighter and in my hands has better balance and ergonomics than the Stihl.

Bolt on more power with an Egan Performance “header pipe" to your Echo 2511 chainsaw for an immediate increase in power and throttle response and a reduction of engine temperatures. Independent dyno sheets show an increase of 28% in horsepower.

I don’t doubt the echo is better than the 194T in some respects.
I liked the faster cutting speed since thats what I value a lot and the price was better and I would have to wait until February to get 15% off $500 ($425) to get close the Stihl which I got yesterday, so I will be fine with either saw.
I like my Stihl dealer, they give me 10% off 24/7/365 so I went with them.
The Echo is a fine saw Id have no trouble owning.

I’m not too concerned about the weight and preferred the faster cut. I won’t be using it a lot for climbing, but more for limbing or light work on the ground. Will do a little climbing with it so weight not a huge issue.

Im sure it will be a great saw, I love Stihl too. Did you see the vid I posted a couple pages back though? I bet my 2511 will hang with the new Stihl of yours though! :ROFLMAO:

That's great. I don't really have brand loyalty, I buy according to my needs on each decision, but the dealer is pretty important to me.
Quick story the first 194T I bought leaked bar oil when stored. I took it back and they had me out the door with a replacement in 5 minutes

Besides the th 2lb weight difference, the biggest difference between these two saws is one is a pro saw and the other is a homeowner class saw. The Stihl has a plastic clamshell engine like most homeowner saws do, and the Echo is a magnesium horizontally split saw like all pro saws are. There are very few non-pro saws built this way. The Husqvarna 555, the Echo Timberwolf, Echo CS 4910, and a few others. All of the Stihl homeowner line of saws are plastic clamshell engines. The 194 is a fine saw either way, just a bit heavy.
