    I have something like that near the engine in my NH tractors but they are reservoirs for the power steering. It is not a filter. I don't know why the reservoir or what you are calling a filter would need to be replaced. The dipstick is what you need.

    When I was a kid my dad used a pto cement mixer on a tractor to make a large slab for the hogs. It kept me and my brothers busy shoveling sand and dumping 94 lb bags of cement into the mixer.     I know a guy that was in the masonry union and he got a bunch of pallets from work. He then took the pallets apart and used them for flooring. He used a clear epoxy to fill in all the gaps. He had access to the epoxy from work and it made the floor smooth and impressive.

    Horses... It's always something.

    Rotating pastures is necessary with horses. They graze like sheep. Overgrazing without rotation is hard on pastures. A corral area is necessary to use in the spring after snow is gone until grass is growing good.

    I still have an F350 with a manual transmission. I never trusted the parking brake and when parking I usually shut the engine off and shift to reverse or low. My parking brake works fine it just doesn't have much holding power.

    My dad used one of those old dimmer switches to connect the basement stairway lights back in the early 60's. He installed it in the floor at the top of the stairs so you could step on it when you were carrying a load of firewood down to the basement. It was still working when they sold the farm.
