Well done, awesome job!

Thank you!

Finished the project today. Lots of learnings. Ended up costing $2750 in materials, plus or minus $50 in screws. I won't try to value my labor, but mostly with me working on it solo (with a little help with the missus when I needed an extra pair of hands), looks like it took a little over three weeks working 7 days a week.

Even with all the saw work, I still have 1..2...3....10 fingers so I consider it a success :). And apparently I lost 5 pounds in the process!

Price the labor as free in since you don't have to spend money on therapy ;)

Not mental, but might need physical therapy for my back!

I'm not good at taking days off (or so my SO tells me) so started on the greenhouse foundation today. Scraped off the topsoil and tried to level it out a bit -- I suck at using the loader/bucket to smooth out ground -- then put down some landscape fabric and lastly gravel for drainage and to help level out the 4x6s I'll use as the actual base of the greenhouse. Looking at the photo I still have some leveling work to do on the gravel pad.

Got some Simpson angle braces and mending plates to assemble the base and keep things square. Rain expected on Thurs so I'll probably wait until Friday to get the 4x6s.

Brief update...been delayed due to warped and damaged parts to the greenhouse and now weather since I missed the dry weather window due to the delays. Given the price maybe it's worth the trade-off, but so far my experience has me not recommending the Yardistry products...

Hoping to get everything assembled on Thursday if it goes smoothly. Have the walls pre-assembled as best I can, the rest has to be done on-site. And have lag-bolts to connect the greenhouse to the foundation.

So looking forward to having my shop back and being able to get the tractor and mower out!

Is the greenhouse a kit that you bought? All the wood and glass already cut?

Some more (slow) progress -- finally got all the needed parts and some good, dry weather. Hoping I can finish it up tomorrow. Still need to install the ceiling panels, caulk everything, then do the door and shelving inside.

Did manage to crack one of the roof beams right at a joint.. Hard to describe but the SO was helping me put it up and all of a sudden heard some wood give way. You sister two beams together for the main roof beam so I think a few extra screws have made it all good, but will have to keep an eye on it.

You're going to need to get a load of tomatoes to help recover your bank account. I don't have a fence. My dog is on patrol and does a good job managing the critters and I only paid $150 for him plus dog food. I did put a single strand of electric fence wire up to keep him from laying in the soft ground and damaging new plants. I take it down later in the summer.

Now you need a She-Shed for all her garden tools, pots, hoses and crap they buy that never gets used for anything.

Did you run a water line into the green house?

Are you going to heat it?

That's a good-looking garden area. I'll end up doing something similar, but I'll probably make a second perimeter fence around the garden itself, the area between the two fences will act as a chicken run. We get grasshoppers really bad in the summer, so I'm hoping the chicken run will act as a "no-man's land" for controlling grasshoppers and other pests.
