Yup. I remember reading somewhere that it takes about 2 square miles to support each cow or mustang in the desert. And they often have to walk long distances to water...following their trails will generally lead to a water source.

I thought our pastures were slim pickins. I now think not.

We are really starting to dry out, quickly. Fire season is also here. It was going so good, until it wasn't.

...and yet somehow they survive. Along with wild horses (estimated 40,000+ in Nevada alone) and antelope and deer and all the other wildlife.
