    Kubota L3302 pricing

I've got a L3400, sort of similar, but 13-14 years older. I looked at a Messick's video on the new L3302 - L3902 tractors, and they look good. I have zero complaints about my L3400. If the L3302 is the right size for your needs, I think you'll be happy. I prefer a HST, but if you're using it...

How are actual sale prices vs MSRP currently for Kubotas (or other manufactures)?

I don't make a living from tractor use, nor do I care about dealer support. I have purchased three clean used Kubota tractors over the years, from different sources- two from private parties and one from a Kubota dealer, and all three were absolutely trouble free and completely lived up to my...

Kubota L2501 Turbo: A Journey Defined - The Tractor, The Comparison, The Modification, The Results

I forgot about this thread... I had read it with curiosity last year. At my age, and with the sort of chores my L3400 is called on to accomplish, I couldn't justify trying to boost power. I enjoyed an L3130 for a period before realizing it was simply too large/heavy for our property, but I...

    Snow plow ? Beginner

As you can see from my avatar photo, I have a 78" Horst Welding plow (SSQA) on my L3400. It worked for me (I say worked because it's been some years since we had any snow here). The comments about sticking out are correct. I mitigated the pushing effect by putting some 2" Kubota spacers...

Seeing how it's getting late, and I just discovered this thread, I skipped some later pages... so I am going to ask, is this a "kit" that one can buy for one's L2501? I'm set with my L3400 and closing in on 80 years old, so the L3400 is my last tractor, but I can see how lots of users might...

    L3400 runs but won’t move

    Kubota L2800 tires

Your mats look good. Some years ago, I cleaned my floorboards and center hump cover, and sprayed them with truck bed liner. I am happy with just how well it has held up. I started with zero experience with tractors about 20 years ago with a nice used B8200 with a Bushhog loader and rear blade. I had several hundred feet of fence to put in, and maybe 500' of gravel lane to clear and occasionally grade. My next tractor was a bigger one, a used L3130. Low...

2 Acres half Woods and Lawn Is this B2320 for me?

Methinks you should just buy the friend's Kubota, and then spend the extra money on useful things. For lawn use, turfs are king. They work well in snow, and as long as you avoid snags, I have never had any trouble negotiating woods. If I were hauling logs out on a regular basis, it would be...

    Chains Off?

Here in Norther Maryland, we had a serious snowfall (28") mid-winter, but not much since. I took off the chains about a month ago. I store them in a 5 gal. bucket, after I wash off the mud and dry them. A good spray of WD40 or something similar seems to keep them in good shape. Next fall, I...

    Drawbar hitch ball

I got tired of being limited in how angled I could turn my trailer, due to the trailer itself hitting the drawbar, and rather than try to raise up the ball itself, I just set it back, giving clearance. I wouldn't do this for an on-the-road hitch, but for a tractor, it seems fine. Problem solved.

    Fall/winter project

I haven't sprayed a whole tractor, but I did sandblast, prime and finish a 72" loader bucket. I gotta say, I used two part epoxy metal primer, and that stuff is great! I finished with Kubota paint, and it was also good- fine coverage, dried well, etc. I did this outside, using just an organic...

    Broke front hub

Airplanes and cost: years ago, my brother had a 6-place turbo prop, which he sold when he came to the sad conclusion that every hour he had flown it for the past few years had cost him about $5000 (payments, insurance, operating costs, fees, etc.,) and he would be better off flying first class...

    Alyeska pipeline

Sort of off-topic, (it's oil, for sure) but I thought some might find this interesting. Our Russian friend who works for sustainability groups like the FSC was just in Alaska, and sent these photos from the pipeline.

Magnet Mounted LED ROPS Lights - PICS

Having installed lights on three tractors over the years, hopefully gaining experience each time, I still enjoy seeing how others do it. Some opinions: never had any problems with various LED lights at all, water or vibration. The OP's lights are now 2 for $14.79 on Amazon! Most tractors...

Hitch & Small Dump Trailer for BX

I've got the HF 4' x 8' trailer, which I got on sale for around $230 a few years ago, and I put about the same amount into deck and sides and ramp. I use it for many things, hauling wood is one. But, I just recently saw one of these for sale, an assembled kit, new, for $150 on Craig's List...

    My BX25D is here!

If your fuel will sit for extended periods (a B25 doesn't use a lot) you might want to get a Mr. Funnel, they work well for water removal and just cleaning dirty fuel in general. I have used $10 Sear's toolboxes for two tractors, and they seem to hold up great. Rust and waterproof, perfect...

Battery Tender Plug In Port (BX Mod)

Years ago, I installed a SeaDog ciggie lighter outlet, just like David did. $4, works fine, and if I want 12V power, I have it... Wired to the battery, with a 10A fuse. No issues with the cap in cold weather.

Most Useful Minor Additions to Tractor

I guess I have the usual assorment of add-ons... 6 LED work lights, front, side and rear. A homemade weight box with bars for holding chains, and two chain hooks on top of the loader bucket, plus a HD D ring on the inside center top, which I have found really useful. A pipe for holding a...

Mounting a 8.5' snow plow on a SSQA plate

When I installed the same cushion valve, I spoke with a hydraulic tech at Surplus Center. He told me to adjust the relief pressure as needed. Screwing in = more pressure needed for relief, out is less. Trial and error, if you will, helps. Both sides should move in or out the same amount. I...

Oil & Fuel Adding mechanical oil pressure gauge

Other than the price, the JEGS gauge looks fine. I spent about $18 total on the three gauges I added to my first tractor, and never had any issues with them. The oil gauge came with a variety of fittings, and I just added a brass tee where the sender unit was screwed into the back of the...

Benefits to lights on your tractor.....

I've been playing with the aiming on my lights, and have found that directing the 27W main lights out straight in front, with my smaller 18W floods mostly front but slightly sideways works pretty well. I feel like I have plenty of light, yet it's about an 8 amp draw, no problem. Even with the...

    Show your 1/23-24/16 snowstorm PICS!

This shows why a loader SSQA plow isn't all bad (compared to a closer-in frame mount, anyway) in that I could push it up and over the piles when I ran out of places to put snow. The orange part of the snow pole is 6', the pile was over 7' high when I was finished. Melting will probably take...

Snow Attachments WORKSAVER VS HLA Snow plows

FWIW, I have a HLA 78" plow, the basic model, but with the hydraulic angle, and it seems like it is made well by people who know plows. I am learning that chain suspended plows are good, so you are working with only the weight of the plow digging, and I can't see anyway to convert mine. It...

    Show your 1/23-24/16 snowstorm PICS!

Things are under control, once again. I had posted a photo of me plowing during the blizzard (and it was, we officially got 30" here) and someone observed that the photo was a good argument for a cabbed tractor! He's right, of course. I know it! But then, today was bright and sunny, around...

    Show your 1/23-24/16 snowstorm PICS!

Here in Northern Central Maryland, we've been blasted by 23" as I write this, with another 5-8" forecast before daylight tomorrow. I've been out three times, but the winds and drifts are causing trouble. Only my neighbor and his Deere 5055E has saved my bacon, using his big loader bucket...

trying to save some $$ on tire chains

If you check out a tire chain company, like Laclede, you'll find charts showing the length of the side links and cross links for their various types. You should be able to figure out how long you will need by measuring your tires, and doing a little math, and start looking for something that...

B2650 Question about Charging after Light Bar Install

I was going to mention a voltmeter, as well. I am not sure that just because you are showing 14.2 volts you aren't over-taxing your dynamo or alternator? Still, the voltmeter is a simple and handy way to monitor your tractor's electrical system. His owner's manual should tell him what sort of...

    Chainsaw 101 for novices!

Being a rural homeowner, I had a little experience with chainsaws, but no real need. I got along with an Echo 270, but then we got a fireplace insert, and an opportunity to get a lot of firewood when a neighbor had 7 or 8 large trees bulldozed to clear land for a horse riding rink. I looked at...

    led work lights for l3901

I worried about snow blocking the LED lights, but so far, it hasn't been an issue. Maybe they are just warm enough? Mine are ROPs mounted... but they get plenty of blowing snow and wet snow from overhanging evergreen branches.
