We moved to the lake Superior snow belt some 20+ years ago. Getting some form of a snow removal system is easy. Having fun in ii is when the fun really starts. You couldn't pay us to move were AC is the norm.View attachment 706116View attachment 706117View attachment 706118

Nice pics, Harley, and I really like your ATV set up as well.

We are about 2 1/2 hours north of Toronto, and we do get snow in the winter. I have a BX 25 and the rear snowblower that I put on it only cost me $1700. Very sturdy, and very powerful. But of course I do have to look over my shoulder. Not too bad, one driveway is about 100 feet or so and the other one is 500 feet, plus the parking areas.

60” ATV plow for the first while until I get a snowpack, then the blower.

Thanks, The 6ft atv plow on our 6x6 does rock. Funny that people told me "that's for a SUV! It won't work!" As you state looking back gets old. Many folks wish they'd have got a front mount at a later date....

To the OPer. Take all plow advise with a grain of salt. If you need to plow lots, going backwards will get old asap. No matter what you get, it will not be perfect. :)

About 10 years ago, I bought a nice used Kubota L3130 with a SSQA loader, and splurged on a new Horst Welding 78" hydraulic pivot snow blade with it. Since then, a wealthy neighbor has absorbed the 65 acres of property surrounding us, and his groundskeeper plows the lane using their dedicated V plow truck. We have much less snow than we used to, whatever is left to clean up is easy to do with the bucket. I just cleaned up and painted the blade with an idea to sell it, since I really no longer use it. I don't think it was on the tractor once in the last 3 winters. Oh well- seemed like a good idea at the time. Global warming is coming here now!

I run a 6' plow on my loader during the winter and a 6' snow blower on the rear (PTO driven).
The plow is a manual angle and works OK for 6" or so...more then that, the blower is the better way to go

One of these days, I'll think about getting the hydraulic kit for the plow

Part of the reason I bought my B2710 a few years back was so that I wouldn't be at the mercy of others to plow my drive.
I found a used 4Ft. land Pride blade for $300, now mounted on rear.
If the snows too deep to "pull" it out of the way, then I just use the FEL to push it. Then I can go back out on the weekend, and spend a couple hours pushing/lifting with the FEL to widen the banks out.
By the end of the season, it does get a little narrow, but it's passable.

I too have a Snowsport plow and it can be put on anything with a 2" receiver. I put on the front of my TC33D tractor, RTV900, truck, and Toolcat.

When we lived farther north in Idaho (50-60 inches annual) with a 400 ft drive plus large parking area we did well using a 650 Arctic Cat ATV with a plow. The type of ATV plow makes a difference. We had a 60" wide tapered plow 26" tall on one end and 16" on the other. You can really sling the snow with a tapered plow angled and a little speed as long as it's relatively cold snow. Much tougher and all pushing with the blade straight if it's more than 4 inches of wet stuff.

Now we're in a 100 -160 inch annual snowfall area with a 700+ ft drive on 11% grade plus larger parking area. We sold the ATV plow. We now have a skid steer with a plow for the early snows and for clearing off the snow floor when it rots in the spring. We did use the plow all winter for a while and the skid steer allowed us to turn sideways and push the banks back. That got old though and we now use a 78" wide blower on the skid steer in the dead of winter.

We've had other people plow for us prior to having the ATV and never got anything close to the kind product we needed.

Hey there my advice is similar to "Hay dude's "
You have to ask yourself those same questions. My driveway is about 150 meters around. I have a 1998 Cub cadet 3225 tractor with a 45 inch wide blower. The blower was about 1800 I believe. It takes me about an hour given 10 inches of snow.
