    A lot of folks would find 20 minutes I suffice to. Keeping it warm should not harm the coolant. With the 24 hour plug in never heard of boiling the coolant or damaging it. That’s over a 70 year or so time span. Easy to check temperatures with an infrared type heat temperature gun.

    Give that a try and let us know what happened. Make sure the heater is immersed in the proper orientation. There are many misconceptions on how a block heater works including non transfer of heat to the oil in the oil tank.
