With all those bare peanut connectors up there on that pole the critters would probably get shocked before they got a chance to get down your pipe.
As far as water in conduit very few runs of conduit are immune to water intrusion, gray electrical conduit is not made to the same standards as say white water pvc conduit meaning it is not guaranteed to be water tight, a certain amount of groundwater is going to seap in if the water table is over the conduit during periods of heavy rain, if it were mine though I would want it sealed to minumize the amount of water entering the conduit, after all that is the only place that you can control it, so many things are sold as waterproof but in my opinion after long periods of time they are really only water resistant under periods of constant submersion, we also have manholes that stay full of water and we do our best to waterproof our connections ie splices and terminations of cable, but after years of constant submersion they fail.
