I think one of the upsides to my 562 is the autotune. I can mess with a carb and make something "run," but run right, I cannot. The autotune is really nice for a guy like me.
I personally like "older stuff," because its just simpler and easier/cheaper to fix. I don't think I want a truck newer then my 2015 chevy because I can still do a lot of the basic work on it. I own a 2012 tractor where I would consider the only newer tech to be hydraulic drive. I think I can fix a lot of that machine. I got rid of my 2006 polaris because the electronic AWD was a pain to deal with. So I bought a full time 4x4 honda.
I do like the tech though in a place where I can't do it myself. Im not a carb tuner so the newer tech is worth it to me.
Tech is good in some places and bad in others.

Also, what you said I don't disagree with. Anything with a computer is questionable whether it will be around in 40-50 years.

I have worked on computers, as a technician, for 29 years. I don't think bad things about computers whatsoever. Some have even continuously run with never being shut down or failing in over 40years. My concern with modern tractors is more so the emission components on them than the computers that operate them. I would be more fearful of having emission issues and the inability of correcting that 40 years down the road because the tuning is no longer available.

This is confirmed by a dealer that even gets their prototypes in to send out for testing.

No longer made for US market and last we had were the NE x-torq ones. Only old stock left.

I liked the OE 372 better and order mine in from a overseas dealer in my group. Also can still get new 288's

Huge difference in piston size. Glad I bought one of the last non-X-torq saws. I was amazed when I went to check the muffler to do a mod in it, and found it hollow right from the factory. I let it be. Sounds like a 2 stroke dirt bike

OK, well that helps.
I’m not really into brand loyalty and Stihl has gotten a lot of my money, so no problem for me checking out Husq or Echo.
…..but I’d still take a 400
