How do you plow snow?

That's still pretty chunky for that tractor. I bet you don't get much blade chatter with that!
My 8 footer weighs about 850lbs, and it's a heavy duty model.

Yeah I guess you do adapt.
But I adapt to warm sunshine much better.

Anyways, here’s me plowing some “unreal” snow last winter. Only about 8” so it’s not “real snow” lol

Here’s my “weapons” Challenger 135HP with 8.5’ Arctic snowplow

Same tractor as above, but looking out back. Snow Ex 1850 spreader with tub vibrator. Salting some not “real” ice & snow….

That looks pretty light. My Exmark seems to be built as heavy as a normal truck plow, just shorter. The A frame is much heavier than the Moose.

I took a different approach. I built the road up and have big ditches on each side. The wind blows the snow to the ditches.

No need to plow...

Ask me how many years it took to figure that out...

Fisher plows are made in Maine and are popular here. I've used the old straight permanently mounted blade, a Minute Mount straight blade, an Extreme V, and an XLS - my favorite. The XLS is a straight 8' blade with two hydraulically driven 1' extensions, so an 8' becomes a 10'. What's more, the ends can fold forward creating sort of a scoop for clearing larger areas like small parking lots without losing much of the captured snow on the way to the bank. V plows are great for breaking through deeper snow or banks left by town/state plows, but I've found they leave a windrow where the two moldboards hinge from. The XLS is a heavier plow and cleans right down to the pavement.
