If you put up electric fence be sure and look at more upscale chargers. ($500 plus) as they have alarm outputs. ...

What are the "alarm outputs" for? Do they sense if the wire has been touched and alert you that the fence has been touched?

I can't remember if this has been mentioned or not but a repeat won't hurt.

For security cameras consider getting IR based video for not time use. A guy I work with installs security systems and he recommended IR for night time use. You can flood the area with IR light that is not visible to humans but sure is visible to the cameras.

When we built our house I wired the house for security cameras but never did install them. I ran Coax and put power where the cameras were located but alas the technology moved to CAT5/6. There are also wireless camera solutions for IP networks. The good stuff was pricey when I was looking at it years ago.

I don't know how close he is to the problem neighbors, and if he uses
security cameras he NEEDS TO USE WIRED CAMERAS.

Where me and my wife use to live we had a neighbor that was a thief, and we had a in ground pool in our back yard with a privacy fence around. Since i didn't trust that neighbor i put up one wireless camera.

I had the camera watching the front yard and when i turned it on all i seen was our pool, i found out that the neighbor had a wireless camera also, and i was picking up his signal.

He had the camera on a electric pole up high so he could see over the fence, i told this in another thread but didn't tell all that came from it, i only advised that person to use WIRED CAMERAS.

*(I am not advising no one to do this, it happened in 1986 and the laws wasn't as strict as they are today*)

Me and my wife was only 19 and we didn't have no children yet, i was
still a little wild and didn't take no crap from no one, so my wife called the local sheriff and he didn't do nothing about the problem, so we called the county attorney and he just laughed at us.

I was really mad so i took matters in my own hands, my neighbor was 32 and i saw him walking to the news paper box, so i went up to him to talk to him about this, he started running his mouth so i hit him several times breaking his nose and blacked his eyes.

The sheriff came out and took me to jail, i spent 2 days in there and was facing 6 months if convicted by a jury. this could have been on my record for the rest of my life, (when we was picking up his signal we recorded what his camera saw and that helped me.) The guy had a record for several things, stealing, drugs and for beating his wife.

(WE DON'T LIVE AT THIS PROPERTY ANYMORE, WE MOVED TO THE COUNTRY.)

1)* You need to be careful what you do because of this sheriff.*

2)* I had already told you to call the "Attorney General", only call if your county attorney will not help.*
_______________________________________________

So this is from experience and what we did when we received no help from the sheriff or the county attorney's office.

We called the Attorney General in our state because we was getting no help and i was facing 6 months, so the attorney generals office got involved and investigated the county attorney and looked over the charges that i was facing, the county attorney could not be the one to take me to court because i reported him.

So my attorney told me that someone from the "attorney generals" office would be the one taking me to court, i thought i had made the mistake for reporting him, but it helped me more than i thought.

They looked at my evidence i had, they did a back ground check on me, they did a back ground check on the guy and he had a bad record, the thing the guy was doing with the camera was invasion of our privacy, and they seen that no one tried to help us.

We found out that the county attorney had been reported on several things and wasn't helping many people, so they dropped the charges on me and the county attorney was replaced in 3 months because of the lack of help to people that really needed it, and they found out that the county attorney had let this guy beat his wife 4 times but only taking it to court for the 1 time.(what a low life)

*So only call "Attorney General" if no one else will help.

*Use WIRED cameras only if your neighbor is close to you.

*If he is not that close, then you could use WIRELESS cameras.

*If he is close and you used a wireless camera and he had one and got your signal, he could see what your cameras were viewing and could avoid this area.*

*Get night vision cameras, they are the best.

We have lived out in the country for 21 years now and are 42 years old with a son and daughter, i use several security cameras, sensor lights, solar sensor lights because i can use them where electric isn't available, locks on all gates, fenced in property, and electric fence.

I keep a gun on my night stand, i would hate to have to use it, but i must protect my family.
Here in my area there is many farmers and we look out for each other, we travel a lot and gone 1 to 2 weeks at a time, i record with my cameras while were gone, and i have people come in and check in
on my property while were gone, because you can't trust many people these days.

*I also use scouting cameras with no flash, and i actually caught a teenage boy on my property, but i talked to his dad and that solved the problem.(the boy didn't even see the camera:D)

Please be careful with your problem neighbors.

Wireless IP camera's can have their signals encrypted so that other's cannot view the image. If a person using IP cameras has not encrypted their wireless network EVERYTHING on the network is open. Computer(s) and camera's included.

On these cheap wireless cameras you can take different brands and pick up the signal with them.

That is why i use wired cameras now.

... She said she is getting a second German Shepherd although our current one almost ripped through his chain link from the looks of things, either scared of the fire or because he wanted to kill the subject.

You mentioned the dog earlier in the original post too.

So why is it in a kennel in the barn? Let it out.

Mine have the run of the barns as they ate their chain link too.

Good luck.

So why is it in a kennel in the barn? Let it out.

2 possible answers: 1) neighbor hurts the dog or 2) dog bites neighbor and neighbor says dog did it on neighbor's property.

Don't waste a good dog on a rotten neighbor.

I purchased this motion detector that you can record your own message and or sound when it trips.

Lets say some one crosses it's path the recording with say whatever you program in it, in any language. Example GET AWAY FROM THIS ARE THE POLICE HAVE BEEN CALLED. or blah, blah, blah in Spanish.

Here's the fun part I put it in front of the house at Halloween but taped a MEAN dog barking sound and added a supplemental loud speaker.

I didn't tell the wife and when she came home with groceries and the crossed the sensor the "mean dog" started barking. Well after I went out and picked up all the groceries on the ground, and after she got done screaming at me, I almost wet my pants from laughter.

So the plan would be to wire a variety of these motion sensors and have them all wired to the same barking do ( in the distance ) so the intruder hears the dog barking and calls it quits.

Here's a dog sound

ZetorShaun;1602212I have been caught sleeping I guess. My third barn faces away from the house. An unknown subject went in and slashed all the tires on my Kawasaki Mule said:
Should have reported it as attempted Arson. That is felony (at least in Texas) and for not investigating a felony the law enforcement officer would have a lot of explaining to do.

VERY GOOD POINT!!!

This is also a felony in Kentucky, it should be in all states.(not sure)
