I've never seen or heard of that kind of setup before, but apparently some have. Oddly enough.

Agreed. There aren't pumps that pump diesel and gas out the same nozzle. There aren't pumps that pump diesel and DEF out the same nozzle. The pumps draw from a holding tank, there isn't some sort of solenoid that switched between which tank the fuel is drawn from.

Anyone who says they've seen pumps that pump both out of the same nozzle don't know what they're looking at.
