Will DEF harm a CUT?

Next time you need D.E.F. , just pee into the tank ! Problem solved.
Good luck with that, some folks have tried. The DEF sensor is pretty sensitive and built into the tank. Hopefully it would be a no start or derate situation before damage occurred, but I bet the sensor would be shot and it is not cheap.

Let’s be clear here, once again I realize everybody doesn’t read the entire thread, but I think at this point the OP is 99.9% sure the DEF nozzle and the diesel nozzle were seperate. There was just confusion because the DEF nozzle was hidden.

But...but...what about the pumps where (supposedly) the same hose and nozzle are used for both?

I've never seen or heard of that kind of setup before, but apparently some have. Oddly enough.

I’ve been to 48-50 states and parts of Canada and I’ve never seen that setup. I’ve never seen a picture of one either. Until I do see a picture I’m going to file that one under internet rumors.

I think there are several reasons nobody has ever seen such a setup. Somewhat like Bigfoot.

And if there is one in real life, there must be a funnel available on the pump, or some sort of reducer, to make the diesel nozzle fit the tiny DEF filler.

Why would that be? Can't they still charge different prices for regular and dyed fuel? You might get a few ounces of dyed in your pickup, but no big deal.
Why would you fill up at 50/50 is the question

That’s what I was about to comment next. You couldn’t get a diesel nozzle in a def tank.

Much like that you can't put a diesel nozzle in late model gas filler neck.

They do try to make things somewhat foolproof, but that hasn't stopped people from putting gas and DEF in diesel tanks.

Haven't heard of anyone putting DEF in a gas tank yet, but give it some time.

HA!

Yes, we will keep everyone "safe" by limiting/controlling the functionality of everything.

Just wait till AI chips are added to tractors (or everything) to solve problems and keep everyone safe?????
