Tinnitus making me mental

And another thing. Since my Tin is elevated lately I find my ears more sensitive to "normal" loud noises. Like the clinking of the dishes from across the room, riding my 'wheeler with oem exhaust, etc actually hurts...what the ???

Most irritating is women's voices, specially on TV. Often have a hard time listening to the news because of the female voices.
Some sound almost like gravel gurity.
Sorry girls. Lucky not to have any girls around except the dogs.

this reminds me of the george zimm thread. orbital mind control lasers I see they are just retasking the satalite to beam the tinnitus out when not using them to make mass groups of people to do stupid things.

If any of you are illuminatti : the game of conspiracy fans.. you'll surely catch the reference.. :)

I knew I shoulda never taken off my tin foil hat..............eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

/ Tinnitus making me mental #89
Anyone ever notice the resonant frequency of tin foil is a multiple of the cicadas call.... just sayin.....

/ Tinnitus making me mental #90
I think mine started when my brother got me to shoot a 22 mag revolver when I was in my early 20's. The sharpest sounding and loudest firearm I ever pulled the trigger on. My ears rang for 2 days straight.
But my tinnitus isn't the Cicadas; it's the 10,000 crickets. At least it's at a low level that I can usually ignore. I'm a candidate for hearing-aids because of all the shooting with no protection when I was young. I'm almost deaf of high frequency sounds. I understand just enough of whats said on TV to know what's going on.

I learn to live with it, BUT, one day it stopped. Don't know when in the day, man, life was GRAND. Then it started up again....

my brother in law had this for a year or so then changed medication it stopped then

Artillery ruined my high frequency hearing and I deal with tinnitus all the time. Hearing aids appeared to work when I first got them, but I guess my brain adjusted to them, so it seems I'm right back where I started.

Medications also can affect the degree of tinnitus, especially anyone with high blood pressure. My BP is a little high, but with medication stays right in the zone, but the first prescription I was given worsened the problem. It took a long session with a hearing specialist and the doctor and trying a few different prescriptions, but they finally found one that lessened helped lessen the ringing.

Hmmm, I did have my first garden hose with a camera on it "procedure" a little over 3 weeks ago which is about the time my Tin kicked it up a notch. I wonder if the anesthesia had anything to do with this? No blood pressure issues and no medicine other than Nasonex which I take every year during allergy season and have been for 10+years.

That procedure should have made you see things, but not affected your hearing.

I had my last one 5 weeks ago and can't tell it made any difference in my hearing.

And I saw the thing.....nice of the Nurse to be prepping it on the work table before they put me out.......at least 5/8th's....maaaybe 3/4.....TMI????

One thing that I thought was really cool was right there in the OP room was a large Craftsman Tool chest. I had to ask and they said it's been there & in use for almost 20 years....I gave a Tim Allen grunt.

About 20 years ago I had my wisdom teeth removed. The top two came out no problem but the first of the two bottom teeth would not come out without being sawed, broken, ground down and who knows what else before being removed. I was awake the whole time but was shot up with novocaine or whatever they use. I had to come back a week or so later for the fourth tooth to be removed. Anyways, not long after all that is when I first started noticing ringing in my ears and I've had it ever since. I mentioned it on my next visit to the dentist but, as I expected, they assured me that there could be no connection between the anesthetic / extractions and the tinnitus.

My younger years saw a lot of loud music and auto racing and that is probably what prompted my tinnitus but I will always wonder about that dental procedure.

The ringing is not severe but it is constant. A very high frequency ring - it reminds me of an old picture tube TV where you could hear that high-pitched whistle on top of the normal TV sound.

Now, I wear earplugs every time I use the tractor, lawn mower, vacuum cleaner, etc. Even wore them at a Packer game.

That's interesting. I don't think I'd heard of any connection there, and now I don't remember the dates for sure, but along about the time I had both wisdom teeth on the left side removed was also about the time I first saw an ENT specialist and learned about tinnitus. However, the female dentist who removed those two did so with only the injection for anesthetic and had no trouble pulling them. Then on April 16, 2010, I had both wisdom teeth on the right side removed and I think the oral surgeon who did that just routinely puts everyone to sleep to do any extractions. Anyway, I don't think he had any problem at all and it didn't take long.
