Suggestions for tree removal

Started to read all the stupid stuff, kept amused for a while, but, if you want to fix the problem in time for dinner just cut the fence, using the fel to help push it over as you cut the stump, then restring that section of fence. wash up for dinner

We had a pretty bad storm come through Sunday night/Monday morning. Lots of downed branches and trees. A guy not far from here was killed by one falling on his mobile home.

We avoided any really bad problems, but lost some mid-sized trees. This one is threatening to crush part of my new fence...suggestions?

View attachment 3578493quick and safe to use A track hoe. Cheaper alternative is rent a 4 wheel backhoe. The bucket will probably lift that tree off,or use the boom. Plenty of power and traction to push and stack debris. Even dig out stumps.

Yep, as per previous suggestion, I'd put a chain or cable around the horizontal part near the break, and then tension it from the base of a big tree behind it with a hefty come-along. Then CAREFULLY fell the stump above the fence line, letting the tensioned piece pull it away from the fence as it falls [pivots sideways and down]. I've had similar things here with eucalyptus, but I usually use my big boom forklift to "lift and separate".

Doesn't look like a big deal to me. Let it dry several months, to lighten it. Then using your tractor get under the end where its split , chain if necessary supporting it lifting a little. Cut the tree stump at the ground or comfortable level. Move it sideways a little until you clear the stump, lower it down cut closer to the split. Lift it back up and push it onto the other side toss over any stump remains...

That's how I think I would attack it.

I agree with above. I have a pole saw I use to trim up tops before I do much more. Also agree about the snakes. From the picture it would wait for winter at my place

Thanks. The worst snakes are on the other end of the property. There's a pond for water mocs. We get copperheads, timber rattlers, and coral snakes, too. The moccasins are the aggressive ones, though.
