Level type recomendations?

I have a Black and Decker self leveling laser level that would work perfectly for that. Just put the tack (included in the level) in the lowest post 1" from the top, hang the laser level and look for the line on the other post, cut 1" above the line. This is best done in subdued light since the red line is a bit hard to see in bright sun. Cost is about $30 from Sears or Walmart.

All I can say is if he hasn't got it level by now, he better forget it.
Hoping the water level comes in today or tomorow. Not gonna have a chance to even try to work on it until this Sunday or maybe next Sunday. Days are getting longer, but still not enough light after work to sink into a bigger project.

For a project like yours a simple sighting level would have worked fine, probably would get you within a degree or two of level depending on how good your eyes are.
