Help with brush clearing

Ok, I have several large patches of thin brush. Mostly lilac, prickly ash and what I refer to as spirea, thin stuff that grows close together and stands about 4-6" tall. So backing up the rotary mower over it is very time consuming not o mention not real happy with the sticks left protruding out of the ground. So I was looking back at the archives for posts on tooth bars. But most seem only used for digging. But the Piranha toothbar looks like it will cut the brush?? I am worried that other bars will just bend the stuff over and not do much. Can anyone with this tooth bar let me know their experience with it? I am not wanting it to dig, but to just slice this crap off level or slightly below grade. Thanks.

My question is similar but even more specific. Has anyone used the Piranha toothbar to shear off small pines? I have some 2" up to maybe 3" pines and cedars I want to thin. I'll uproot them if I have to. But I would rather cut them off. I realize this will leave a small low stump. That's not a problem here. I'd rather shear them off if I can to save time and to avoid disturbing the roots of nearby pines.

If you have a standing tree push them with your front bucket about 4ft high. This should up root one side. You then have a chance to remove the root ball.

Your not going to cut 2in trees with a tooth bar...that's going to be a job for a chainsaw, forestry mulcher or an excavator.

I dunno, I chop down 2" trees with my brush hog all the time. Just have to go easy and let it whack away for a few seconds. And in reverse, not driving forward, obviously.

That said, I agree with the "push over, back up, find rootball, get under it" method of loader clearing.
