The boy's ad on marketplace for the trailer. Didn't get to post the tractor before dark. Honestly, I thought I was better then a lot of ads on FB Market.

After I left dealer, and made a U turn on 4 lane; I called back to ask about insurance prices. He said for a roughly $20,000 package; expect insurance to be approx $1800 over life of the 60 month loan.
Expect to pay…approx? Smooth talk, show me on paper.

That’s still $30/month or $360 a year, I think you can do much better. Dollar for dollar I’m paying less than that. You’re at about $1.50/month per $1k financed, I’m at $0.81/month per $1k financed through Travelers.

I'd have to pull out the paperwork for the exact number, but my insurance is a few dollars a month through DLL's subcontract with XYZ; after the loan is paid I can continue the insurance for a few dollars more a month.

So, I pretty much am 90% settled on the Ck2610, but one thing. It lists top speed of like 10.6mph; when a lot of the other similar machines are up around 14-15mph. Has anyone had a CK2610, and really found this to be a limitation. I'm not planning on driving to the gas station and all; but if want to run it 5 miles down the road to my mom's property; I might want too. I do have a perfectly capable truck and trailer. Just wondering if anybody travel speed a limitation.

My experience in just going to the neighbor next door on my L2501 was that cars were whizzing by no matter how fast I tried to go. I wouldn't drive 5 miles on the road on a tractor if I had a suitable truck and trailer to haul it instead. The high range on the L2501 is just about too high to use on the farm except on the gravel drive. The fields are too rough.

It's not anything that bothers me; in an open station machine it still feels like you're moving along nicely, until a Ford Festiva passes you, leaving you in the dust. 🤣

I wouldn't worry much about 10.6mph compared to 14-15mph. A slight grade on the road and you're probably going to go from 15 to 10 anyway. The slower machine may be able to maintain 10mph.

Apples to oranges, but by 16mph tractor drops down to 8-9mph on moderate grades.

He just sold the trailer this morning for $500; and posted the tractor last night, asking $2500. Fighting with my self a bit; I want to go make a deal; but I know I Really should sell the L285 first, while I want too. If I get the new one first, I'm going to get relaxed about selling out, and 9 months from now, it will still be here.

You might still get some Spring tractor buyers now and who knows what the economy will be like 9 months from now.

That was quick.
I was happy about that. I kept my Ford 917L 48-52" flail mower and my Frontier 6 ft box blade. Sent the home made single bottom plow with him.

I figure if the BB is just Way too much for the new tractor, I can always post it for sale later. I want to see how the flail mower does. I was never happy with it; or let's just say I didn't get the results everyone else brags about. For me it was never the Goldie Locks, just right, between Bush hog and finish mower. I always found it to be neither fish nor fowl.

I am going to price a 6 ft landscape rack and a SS pallet fork set with new tractor; but I see used rakes from $275-700 locally, so will probably get that used. Don't know what dealer sold light duty forks cost; but it looks like online (minus shipping) there are some for sub $750.

What do yall think of packaging attachments into a tractor loan? Seems like you are paying insurance and interest on something that you probably should do separate if you have the cash, and there isn't much package savings.

I suspect you get hosed on the purchase price buying new implements from a dealer compared to buying used from individuals or at farm equipment auctions.

The equivalent LS is the MT225E; there is the smaller MT225S, that's a nice machine too. John Deere's offering in this market is the 3025E and 3025D; they're actually separate machines despite seeming so similar.

Also, still got to fly the flag here, the Kioti CK2620 (or CK2610 if you can find one) is worth a look.

Really, they're all respectable tractors, and it really comes down to which one you feel the most comfortable with. Be it physical comfort, or the comfort that comes with a good dealer.

So, don't anybody take this the wrong way. But; I wouldn't want to buy a almost new CUT at 17% cost savings over new; mostly for 2 reasons; #1: and this where I mean to offense to anyone; but have you seen the abuse a lot of new tractor owners put them through? Smashed buckets; ramming stumps, ect; and #2: Financing a used tractor is something most banks are going to be a bit leary of.

Reason #1 is why I bought new last year. Some guys buy new tractors, use them like track loaders, and then resell them. Cheaper for them than renting equipment for 100 hours of use, but how much damage did they do to the tractor that will show up many hours later?

I’m not so sure. I see a lot of used implements being advertised that aren’t much of a discount from new. Then it’s often difficult to find used implements that are the size you need.

Not just size. I don't want to spend 1000s of dollars on anything if I cannot get exactly what I want. I haven't the patience to wade through auctions and sales to find the size and options that I want. Like Slip Clutch vs shear pins. Also, sometimes used implements are hard to distinguish the economy model from the standard or premium. Certainly difficult online.

Even a nice looking used cutter could have been abused. Easier to tell with implements without a gearbox.
