Battery powered chainsaw

We bought ours local and wasnt much either. Well worth the gear head.
We have the others before that.

Updated: Just checked ours only 26" gear head.
We have a bunch of the smaller units but we will only use the 32"s today. Big is better in this case, less bending over.

Don't have one. I was in store last week and looked at them but didn't buy them. Do your own due diligence and run up Menards website and look for yourself. You are a big boy I presume.
Sure will if you pay for the 200 miles worth of fuel. $10 says menards is more for the same tool.

The Forest Service, and Cal Fire are experimenting with them in some California locations where the environmental risks are high. They are worried about the spills, and they both have several instances of burns from fuel geysering during refills every season. The batteries are thought to eliminate both issues.

The initial is that they get about half the inches of cut per unit weight, when comparing the battery saw, and three batteries, vs. the gas saw and fuel can. The kit out for the two saws and spare whichever drives it, both weigh about the same, and take about the same pack volume.

They make the most sense for engine crews, who get there by truck, than they do for Hot Shots, Heli-Rappelers, and Smoke Jumpers all of which can have extensive hikes to get to the fire, from their last point of vehicle transport.
It totally matters which battery chainsaws were used?

I've had an EGO 16" chainsaw for a few years now...no complaints, does a good job for residential use. I liked it so much, I purchased their pole saw as well.
Works best (for balance) with a 5.0 A/hr. battery
The 18" is perhaps twice as powerful. Borrowed a 16", got the job done but wasn't gushing with joy. Later borrowed an 18" and was blown away. Bought an 18" for myself.

Also have 21" SP lawn mower since 2016, still using the original 7.5Ah battery no matter I have accumulated several more as I find opportunity. Somebody listed one with charger on Craigslist for $50.

Think I will head to amazon and get the wife another set if 32 there for sure. Thats cheap.
