:stirthepot: This is getting almost as good as a "which oil is the best" thread.

What the heck, let me throw my 2 cents in and really get guys fired up... As to the gas, I only use "Marine gas" It won't gel in the tank or carbs. As far as oil goes I buy the little bottles that go with 1 gal of gas to give you 50-1. Don't trust my eyes to measure. As far as tools... No I don't have any vintage tools so I am no help there. If I can't get 4 stroke motor, then they are al 50-1. 3 chain saws (14" 16" 20") 2 pole saws (8' 12') are the only 2 stroke I have. Weed wacker, mower, generator, edger, blower, pressure washer are all 4 stroke

Looks like a clear division...

Those that say follow manufacturer's instructions infinitem.... and those that use newer formulations and now deviate or have updated the fuel ratio due to the new synthetics now available...

I know with my Model A's that I run stock... 40 weight non-detergent with oil change every 500 miles is by the book... and don't know anyone with a rebuilt stock motor that uses 40 weight or non-detergent or changes oil at the 500 mile interval with the reason being oil today bears little resemblance to oil 85 years ago.

It's easy enough to mix the 20 to 1 and depending on what's left add enough fuel to bring the ratio closer to 50 to 1

Then you won't have much to store and fewer cans.

My plan was to spend the day with the brush cutter... all ready to go.

Tenant called and said the toilet is cracked so I had to drop everything and head to the rental... it's toast so will need to swap it out in the morning...

You know the story about the best made plans... it's been months since I had any tractor time~!

I've run 50:1 (ethanol free) in everything for many years without any problems.

Ethanol Free is something I need to import...

Greetings from one Oakland resident to another... Oakland California to Oakland Oregon.

Always wanted to check out Oakland Oregon... one of these days.

Looks like a nice part of the country where a person can still buy acreage.
