When it starts not running you can pull the plug, hold it near a bare spot on the engine to ground it out, and pull the rope and look for spark. It will pull over easy with the plug out.

My 029 has been leaking oil wherever i place it on the ground. Finally got tired if it and looked to replace oil filler cap. Amazon was 2x the price of my local still distributor….. and even at that it was under $8.
For 8 bucks ive been wasting my time cleaning oil drips off if everything.
The new cap solved the issue.
Saw is 30+ years old and just keeps on going.
