    Building a fence

Above picture is from winter, this one is from yesterday. We are painting it panel by panel. I move panels and install them, my wonderful wife paints. Nothing fancy, just white.

Japanese beetle and a business idea :)

Just like every year, my vineyard is full of Jap beetles. I trap them and spray poison every so often but there must be thousands of them. They eat vineyard leaves, knock out roses and some (brown) basket willows. The traps are not as effective as they could be, I have bugs eating leaves...

    Building a fence

Thank you all :) While the work slowly moves forward - there is a lot of wood planks I need and it takes time and daylight :( - I am planning the next step. The next step, that will likely wait till Spring is the gate. I have 14 feet opening that will be enclosed by two wings gate, most...

    Building a fence

Total will be 15 sections like this one, concrete posts with 12" cast wall between them. The wall will be crowned with pavers and pine boards - pickets or privacy - will be screwed to 2x4 cross beams to complete the fence. The distance between posts is 98", posts are 8', above ground section...

Stone dust used for concrete mixing

The local quarry sells stone dust by a ton, it is half the price of concrete sand. I used it for setting pavers, in horse stables and other places. Just out of curiosity I did some searching and there are studies like this one...

    Plowing food plot

I plowed a food plot this year, we used to just till it, but it was time to really turn it over. After that, I plowed it one more time and than used 3pt tiller to smooth it over, it worked reasonably well, but it is far from smooth, there are lower and higher areas in the field. For future...

    UDT for bottle jack?

I scored bottle jack at the pile of scrap metal, all it needed was to top the oil up, haha. Anyway, I did not have enough oil for it so I used Kubota UDT, likely overkill :D What do you think?

    Shredded MMM belt

Let's see, I got Kubota used 11 years ago, cut grass with it every summer and the belt just died. Not bad, not bad at all

Trailer got stolen, so decided to build one

Looks like a good start :) I build my (4x8) trailer in 2003, the price of steel went up since too. The good thing is I trust it up to 2500 pounds or more and it can go where my CJ7 can go.

    Tail Light

I broke the tail light on B1750 about a year ago, finally started looking for new cover. All I needed was the plastic red light lens if you can call it a lens. Like this one: $18.80 plus shipping was the best price I could find. So I spent nine bucks at the local TSC and made my own...

    Sawmill

Seems like all the little problems are resolved, time to make some serious lumber. After the chain failure I went with real V-belt, it took only three trips to TSC to get the right size :D but it holds much better than the V-link. For the tensioner I used a pulley from Subaru I had in my...

    Sawmill

Update, finally painted and assembled. The electrical connection is safe now - it was not before, I could feel the buzzing in my fingers when it was wet, haha. It cuts again, but there is more work to be done. It eats V belts fast, I am going with sprockets and chain. Also the winch is a...

    Broke the key

Stupid me, hit the key with my knee and it broke, luckily I can still turn the lock to start her, but I would prefer to get the broken key out. Anybody had that happen before? Is it hard to dig out the lock? This is B1750, but I believe it is the same for tractors of that era.

    3pt frame

Thats how I done the bumper for my jeep. 1/2" plates attach to the frame and go through the bumper where bumper is 4x2 rectangular tubing and tow points are part of the 1/2" plate.
  179. czechsonofagun

    3pt frame

I see. It would actually be stronger if the bottom 3pt plates were welded on the end of the cross tubing. Always better to have an overlap welding joint than butt joint. Just like you have it at the top. I mean dont get me wrong, great job on this, all I am saying is that you could benefit...

    Sawmill

24" bar with ripping chain will need an end support, it shakes bit too much. I tried to use whole 372XP clutch assembly, but it would slip on slow down - this is the outer clitch piece welded to a spindle. It gives me the option to replace the chain sprocket rim as needed.

Cheap rulers help setup the thickness, 1 3/8" move up gets me 1" board.

    Tire Selection  Tires 20.5x8-10

Good Morning, I am looking for a pair of 20.5x8-10, mainly because the old pair is so old and cracked that even with tubes inside I have to patch them often. It is for B1750 Kubota, I have turfs front and back and in the back I have 29.5x12.50-15. Now to replace the front, I could only find...

Tires B7100 (and others) front turf tires, 20.5x8-10

I found these at Costco.com: Greenball XC-Master Rear 6-Ply ATV Tire I sure would love the grip, but they are wider than those I have now. Decisions, decisions. Edit: looks like the weight load is pathetic, only 300 pounds, not enough for tractor even I dont have front loader.
  188. czechsonofagun

Front tires 20.5x8-10, where to find them?

Front tires on the Kubota need replacing, but it is such an odd size I am not able to find them anywhere locally. Where do you buy yours? I have turfs now, would like knobs better, definitely not agriculture. Thanks!

    Floating duck house

The 4" pipes I seen here: Timber Butte Homestead サ Blog Archive サ Nancy I could even use T pieces and elbows and make it a grid, problem with styrofoam is that it eventually soak and sink and commercial floaters are out of the budget.

    Floating duck house

Anybody build one here? I am looking into it for my oldest daughter. Not to live in one :) but she likes ducks. I was thinking 4" water pipes for floating grid and build on top of it, anybody has a better idea for a pontoon?
