Good morning,
45° and foggy now highs in the upper 70’s mix of clouds/sun winds WSW 5-10 mph today. Sun never showed up yesterday, stayed sort of misty. Any moisture is good as dry as its been.

Plans for today include leaf patrol and then some energy conservation.

Congrats Happy!
Been working on leaf duty for the last three days. Filled the yard vac to the brim 4 or 5 times each day. Hopefully today will be the last of it for the season. need to check the rain gutters one last time also. Not much else going on around here. I like it that way! Did manage lot's of time in the shop.
Lot's of doctors appt. for her and I in November so will be busy with that. Don't want to change the clocks!! this weekend! I need light at night not in the morning. Oh well.
Off to make more coffee.

Went yesterday. Originally was going to have breakfast with friend at 8am today. So did my shopping yesterday morning. We changed time yesterday afternoon.

Good morning, the low is 54 and going to a high of 64°F. Wind NE 2 mph. 60% chance of showers.

We got 2 of the three windows done yesterday. He did most of the work. Where he needed a third hand I was there. The 2 worst ones are 5x5', the overhead work is hard, even for 2 guys that are over 6' tall. The next window is 4x4', a little easier.

I may check the block heater itself tomorrow on the Kioti to make sure it is working properly. High tomorrow is only supposed to be 39.

Good morning
45° high of 80 and clear skies. Sure doesn’t seem like a Halloween forecast.

Yesterday started with a visit to the dermatologist. Got some freezies and two biopsies.
Left that office and hopped in the little plane to meet up for the closing which went off without a hitch.

When I got home, I had grain bins to fill in the barn, got the BBQ grill moved to the new patio, helped my wife move stuff from the old kitchen, mostly appliances like a bread machine, Cuisinart, waffle iron,kitchen aid mixer, blender, knife sharpener, etc. so far it’s been easy to find a home for everything, cabinets and drawers are not full yet.

Today,I want to pickup some steel to make fireplace tools and a stand for them. Probably need to clean up in the shop so that I have space to work. The welding table, being a horizontal surface is completely cluttered with “stuff”.
I still have things to move, but I’m only moving things as I need them.

50 high 79 breezy today maybe shower tomorrow probably not.

Wife to eye doctor yesterday both eyes leaking have to have injections mid November shots in eyes sounds terrible. Had dinner at River and Rail got done she got very agitated got home jumped out of truck and fell hurt shoulder arm knees rescue squad came helped her up refused any more help. She is sleeping now.

went to tighten up tbe 5/16-24 screw and the bowl just fell into my hand ! The bolt had just rotted off !

That is crazy aren't you glad it didn't happen while running?

Been quite busy working on Rigby's fence in the back yard, and a lot more. Hope everyone has been doing well.

I'll post some fence pix when I get a minute ... it's one of those projects that turned into a *lot* more work than I expected!

Paul, darn it your right ! I even checked the old threads with my English thread gage ! It should have dawned on me while taking off the air filter nuts that everything was metric ! Also when I tried to screw in a replacement screw it would only go in so far ! Good call Paul, back to the Nutty Company today and get a metric screw the right length !

Morning all;

A balmy 50 F this morning forecast to get up to 78F today, then by Saturday a high of 50F.

Got all the leaves off the lawn Monday and now it has a ton more.

Just finished my breakfast and am getting ready to go over to Lowes and pick up some materials I ordered yesterday, the danged place had 2/3's of the order ready for pickup last night the balance was projected to be ready at 9 AM today but no text or emails yet. Not about to drive over 35-45 minutes each way just for a partial order and do it twice. My local lumber yard and hardware store of more years then I can recount sold out last year to a "local" chain, lumber prices went up and quality came down to the same as Lowes or Home Depot.
Contractor finally showed up for this years project, replacing the porch windows and residing the porch to match the house, 11 new windows been sitting here all summer just waiting for him to get here.

Broke one of my cab flood lights this summer and finally got around to ordering new lights, so now something else to do.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 5:45AM. Cloudy skies this morning will become partly cloudy this afternoon. High 64F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph.
Last night's storm only dropped 0.15" so far. It's still drizzling and blustery, but radar looks like it's about over.

I do have the 261-CM, ... It takes about a half dozen pulls to start it when it has been dormant for a month or so, but one pull after that.

The carb version I have will usually start within 6 pulls, but that's about 4 pulls too many. That starter rope puts up way more of a fight than my shoulder can take.

The same guy that had me buy the electronic version is the same guy that got me started on the Makita LXT tools 20 years ago.

How many sprockets have you gone through on your Makita chainsaw? By now I've replaced five of 'em.

Wrapped the full firewood pallets with plastic and got them both loaded into the van. Then kept loading more stuff for the trip south tomorrow. Done painting here, so all of that equipment goes south, too.

A friend down south wanted some manzanita branches to make hangers for her jewelry; she likes the pretty red bark. Took the side-by-side down the old boat launch trail to cut some, and went all the way to the bottom for a look see. There was just enough room left to get by the big pine my neighbors felled, but anyone trying to get by in a car or truck will get a new set of pinstripes. Someone had rigged a knotted rope to help climb a very steep bank at the bottom, which gives access to the back of my property. I climbed it, cut the rope, threw it down, then hiked back up to where a seasonal creek had cut through the bank to get back down. The brush was thick enough to make going difficult, just how it should be. Found a couple nice manzanita branches, and piled them on top of the firewood pallets, which I'd previously topped with a couple dozen manzanita root balls. They'll be perfect for the campfire at the Salton Sea gathering weekend after this.

Today I'll cut the larger branches off the oak tree the neighbor pushed over with his backhoe, then haul everything down to the big brush pile below the house. The tree has been down long enough that all the leaves are quite dry, and in combination with the dry grass under it, I've been waiting for some rain to wet things down before doing any cutting and dragging. If there's any time left after that, I'll find more stuff to load into the van.

morning all, 53 going to 82! and sunny, dry, fire ban still in affect.

Spent morning cleaning out dryer vent. It looks like some bird had gotten in, put in a few sticks and then realized it was not a good place for a nest.
Wife had commented it was taking a lot longer to dry.
The little sticks had gathered enough lint to back up the whole works.
All clean now and flap fixed so it closes better.

Off to friends house tonight for Halloween.

No leaf work, too dry/dusty, would be too easy to start up an inferno with the woods, grass and leaves so dry.

Will need to water some stuff and take in movie screen today. Did plank Salmon on the grill last night, good stuff.

We finally got some rain yesterday, first since early August. Only about an inch, but I'll take it.

Gee, the Dodgers won the Series. They were definitely the better team. Good reason for their "fans" to celebrate by burning and looting...
