David, if you can lay your hands on a set of disks, 3 point or drag, they will chop up your rough fields. Then run a set of cultivators over that and they will smooth out your ''high spots'. Re-seed and a roller and you will have a smoother lawn for next year.

I've never had anything from Stihl that would start easily and reliably if it didn't have a primer bulb. And that's the reason most of those tools have been sold off and replaced with Makita battery powered tools. Still have a Stihl 261, without a primer bulb, and it'll soon be on its way to a new home, too.

I do have the 261-CM, I was a skeptic when I bought it, but the dealer is a good friend, and he heartily recommended it. I run it on AvGas/Stihl oil and it has been great. It takes about a half dozen pulls to start it when it has been dormant for a month or so, but one pull after that. The impressive thing is the carb adjustment is always spot on. I also have the Makita, and it gets used a lot, probably more than the Stihl, but that’s more due to the nature of what I’m usually cutting.

The same guy that had me buy the electronic version is the same guy that got me started on the Makita LXT tools 20 years ago. He dropped some off and told me to let him know if he should pick them up or bill me for them. That was an excellent sales ploy…….

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.8C and it's presently 23.3C, clear with a breeze. The Bureau Of Manyguesses are covering their backsides saying that there may be some rain this arvo. Yeah, right.

Yesterday was a funny day. I stopped by the PO, prior to the Veteran's coffee get-together, to find that the chimney cap/cowl had been delivered (2 days early!).

Then it was over for the coffee gathering... I was the only one... the gathering was last week. :D Still, I had a coffee and then carried on with my grocery shopping.

Home, unpacked and then hopped on the computer = notice that the "brushcutter attachment" was ready to be collected... at the PO! Oh, well. Back into town to collect that. I assembled it and, after lunch, decided to try it out. It worked great, although I did wear my foam neoprene gloves to alleviate any resulting vibration pain occurring in my hands. (nothing happened, but it could have)

I then did some 'pick up sticks' around the property to end the day.

So, there's not much 'planned' for today.

That's about it, take care all.

The day did not turn out as expected after I got an early morning text from the farms owner that they were getting more people visiting today than they anticipated, probably because of the rain forecast for tomorrow. There were about 60 cars in the parking lot when I got there and all but two rides had an average of 15 people. Pic is one of the rides with no people, the grass to the right is the maze.

Good morning TBN! 55 this morning and supposed to be near 80 with cloudy sunny skies.
Did quite a bit of walking yesterday. 14k steps. Mostly around the shop giving my tractor some love. Trying to isolate electrical problems that I had rigged up to get by with Helene recovery. By passed the wires for both my 4 and 1 bucket and fuel solenoid. I got one out of the two at least. I still need to figure out my solenoid. Also got my throttle tightened up so it doesn't constantly throttle down while running.
Celebrated my 37th anniversary with some grilled chops and a quiet evening.
I have a list of things I want to get done today including the solenoid, blowing some leaves again, lining up one of my door openers that is driving me crazy. The list goes on and on. I love retirement :)

Everybody have a great and safe day!!

Coffee is brewing. 59° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 70° with afternoon rain. Did some more yard cleanup. Leaves are falling as fast as I pick them up. Going to get started putting up pond net to stop leaves from falling into garden pond. Tree next to pond is always last tree to drop its leaves. Then a late breakfast with good friend.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.
