How fast was the impeller spinning when it was on your cub cadet tractor?
I would start there.
You should be able to design it so you won't have to run the Kubota at wot. Interesting build let's see some pics.

Often owners trying to do what you want to do forget to check out the required direction of rotation that the blower needs compared to what the F series tractor has.

Roger,
Tell me if this is correct. From my looking at the components,
The engine drove a belt to the blower with similar diameters pulleys and then the gear box reduced the speed by .53 ( 15 to 28 teeth gears) . That shaft drove the blower impeller and beyond. So I think the normal gasoline engine speed maximizes at about 3600 rpm.
So on your original setup the blower impeller would be turning about 1800-1900 rpm. or tip speed of 6594 ft / min
If this is correct , you could remove the speed reducing gear box and drive from your 2500 pto and reduce engine rpm or reverse the gear box and feed from 1000 pto.
Example of typical tip speed: rear TPO at 540 rpm turning a 24" impeller = 3390 tip speed

From reading various threads on the web, tip speed is varies from 3000 to 5000 feet per minute.

540 RPM and 1000 on larger tractors is talking about the traditional rear pto only.

A friend once tried to adapt one front mount blower to another make, only to discover after, that one turned backwards to the other. One half of it was a cub cadet.

You understand it right but I intended to use the 1100 pto speed and go directly to the 14" impeller and not use the gear box at all. With my pto turning cw and the snow exiting the left side of the impeller it should be the correct rotation.

This tractor has two pto speeds to choose from either 1100 or 2500 rpm. I hope the 1100 rpm will be alright, and the tractor pto is cw rotation which would make the snow exit the left side of the impeller once again I hope.

Roger,
I have a 48" Ariens 2 stage and I added 3" wings to each side to widen just a bit to 54". An alternative for extra width. Wings work just fine. Converted to hydraulic motor and SSQA mount. I used 2 channel remote control for chute rotation and tilt after adding 12 v motor and actuator-- battery operated (12 v Milwaukee) . With PTO pump, blower works great but hoses and setup is a PITA. And southeast Michigan hardly gets snow blower snowfalls.

Tip speed of "a mile a minute" throws snow pretty well.

so the 3000 to 5000 fpm figure is what I would go for. How you get there is up to your hardware.

Remember Pi ar ROUND ;-)

High fan speed is everything for good blowing distance, but you also need enough torque to accomplish that and deal with heavy ice and snow being jammed into the impeller under worst case conditions. Kind of like a table fan that goes like crazy, moves a lot of air but you can stick your pinky finger in there and stop it.
