I'm running conduit right now and plan on putting in two of these as general lighting and will assess task lighting after.

Saw those on Amazon. What watt/lumen? What size building?

Was this based on "eyeballing" or measurement? And were they new T12's? Just wondering.

Eyeballing but in truth the cold ambient temperature was a big part of it.

The T12 would blink on and warm up... also hum.

The Costco Lamps just turn on...

I had bought enough bulbs to put three in each fixture but took out the middle one leave just 2 LEDs per old fixture.

Home Depot has 20% off some of their lighting with online orders, and a lot of LED shop lights are included. I got some of these 3800 lumen lights for $44 each after the discount -- ordered online and picked up in store:

Commercial Electric 4 ft. White LED Wrap Ceiling Light-54654141 - The Home Depot

They seem to be of good quality and went up pretty easily. Very bright.

I used four of them in my 20x20 barn for 15200 total lumens and it's very well lit now! Before, it used to be a struggle to work in there even in the middle of the day, so these lights really make a huge difference.

I have one more light that I plan to mount in my 12x16 lean-to. I don't work in there so it doesn't need as much light.

I was at Costco today and their LED shop lights were back in stock. Unfortunately not at the sale price, but at regular price of $29.99. I bought enough to finish my pole barn install. I'll have seven in my 30 by 40 and one spare for future use.

Those round high bay LED lights are pretty interesting but I'm wondering if the company will be there to stand behind the UFO product? I was interested so I looked into it a bit and it Looks like LED Light Expert has only been in business since 2014 and has a CEO Dara Greaney that is an eCommerce guru that joined in 2016 from BuyAutoParts.com. Pretty successful guy. I come back to my question on whether products with warranties sold in eCommerce will be supported and further more can you buy more of the same if need be.

Those are single tube rather than two tube. But they might be just as bright as the two tube models. The Costco lights use lass power, according to the box anyway.

I installed 2 of the 150 Watt UFO units. They seem to be top quality and put out a lot of light. I did a video review and included some light measurements in the shop. I plan on installing two more when I have extra money laying around.

Nice review on the lights with one comment...

My very good friend ended up in the hospital with two broken wrists and a broken forearm replacing lights in a gym by leaning the ladder up against a ceiling joist... the ladder feet slipped and down he went... it really made me double think ladders and height.

I've been rethinking ladders and heights for sometime now.....age does that.

As you get older, you are more sensitive to those gravity waves they just discovered.

I don't climb a ladder (other than step ladders) without someone holding the ladder. When I replaced lights in my shop, my wife was holding ladder to keep it steady.

Yep, agree on ladders and age. Found a rolling ladder on craigslist.

Worked great for everything except the center lights, so I added a six foot stepladder.

The ladder is stored on the back.

Well, the bottom is held in place by a steel rod, in behind the step support.

I leaned a 20' ladder against one wall of my barn to paint it, and the bottom slid out -- not sure why but the ground had a slight slope and obviously gave out just enough. I rode that ladder down to the ground, and amazingly did not get hurt. Unfortunately I spilled most of a newly opened gallon of siding stain, about $40 worth. Made a real mess. I barely had enough to finish the barn.

Being in the industry i cant stress enough the total bs the 30,000, 40,000 and 50,000 hour claims are. They say the led will last that long. Its the drivers that fail.

We have seen lots of industrial grade leds fail within 2 years.....far short of the 50,000 hour claims. These are failing within 3-4,000 hour range. When we replace the drivers they light right up again. And these arnt $19 lights. There $500.00 fixtures. How well do you think the 19 dollers ones will last.

There was also a utility funded refund i skipped last year that allowed a $10.00 per lamp rebate to replace t8 lamps with an led lamp. The rebate covered lamp cost and the owners just paid labor. Other contractors have been telling me that there getting call backs anout failing lights. The dealers are giving free replacement lamps, but the contractors gave to eat labor costs.

Im not swapping out my HID's any time soon.
