The Kubota L3800 has an overall width of 55.1 inches. For my money, I would not go larger than 50 inches and a single lid. Lighter, less expensive and a better match for that particular tractor in my opinion. It will be your favorite, most valuable and productive accessory; doubling the utility of your rig.

Back to earth. You do bring up an important point that new (first) grapple buyers are often confused about: there is no reason to have a grapple as wide as your tractor's standard bucket. If you are pushing through brush the grapple acts like the prow of a ship...it pushes the brush away from the sides as you drive forward. Better to have a narrower grapple that can take advantage of physics and concentrate force rather than disperse it. My grapple is 48" and there are more times when I wish it were even narrower than times I wished it was wider. Of course this assumes you are doing general land clearing and utility work. For cleaning up construction debris a full width grapple is probably better as you are picking up lots of little individual bits of junk on the ground.

OK that did it Travis I'm ordering one. Did you need to make any changes in the grapple's standard hose lengths or connectors for your Kubota? The LA534 (I think that's the FEL on the B2650) is probably about the same as your father's. I may as well have it come with whatever connectors and hose lengths the work the best.

We added a little extra length, making them 60" long. There's a guy over in our EA Channel Facebook Group who just received one last month for his B2650. He posted a few pics back on Jan 17, so check it out if you're on FB. Our couplers are a different series from the Kubota/Land Pride, so we sent an extra pair of couplers for his tractor and added $20.
His outlets are in the center, but they are pointed to the side instead of forward. This configuration will require longer hoses or we can include 90 degree fittings(that's what I sent him).
Feel free to give me a call if this makes no sense. I am usually typing between phone calls & emails, so I frequently look back at my posts and say WTH. :laughing:

Milo, great choice. The 50" is literally perfect for your B2650. Had they made one ten years ago I would have bought it for my CK20.

One question related to connectors and hose lengths: how are you going to run hydraulics for your grapple? I used a rear remote on my CK20 and I have a WRLong diverter valve on my DK40se. Both work just fine. I actually have a moderate preference for the rear remote set up so long as the control lever is convenient to your right hand. The other advantage of using a rear remote is that it can be utilized for other very useful hydraulics when you are not grappling. For example you could run a hydraulic topping lift.

Generally installation of a couple of rear remotes costs about the same as installing something like a WRLong diverter valve. More bang for the buck IMO.

Also, EA will provide hoses that are of adequate length to reach your loader torque tube with enough slack to fully curl and dump without stretching the lines. You will notice however that the necessary slack becomes a snagging hazard when grappling as the hoses flop about and droop. EA sells an upright spring with hose clamps on it that bolts to the grapple and is a simple and effective though rather expensive solution. Travis can quote it for you or you can take a look at the principle on their website (it is commercially available, EA is a reseller and it is not a EA manufactured product) and with and old garage door spring, a welder and a grinder you can make your own for peanuts.
