Rick,
Mentioning seeing our congress critters here is not "political crap". Just a headsup about who is helping out in the aftermath of Harvey. Asking a question about a congress critter is not "political crap" either. Talking politics would be "political crap".

Ok, no problem Brandi. This has been a very enjoyable thread, for some time now but, if this is the future, I'm out of here. I'll go over to our Fall / Winter thread and dust everything off for 9/21.

And yeah, the last few days have been no more / no less a bunch of political crap!

If this BS migrates to Fall / Winter ..... have a great time! Y'all will ruin two really nice long conversations and that's sad.

Rick,
I just went back and read all the posts from the last few days here. Seems you have sour grapes about not being able to fly out of Htown.

So, I'm gonna do what all the others are doing here and ignore your negativity.

Politics are seldom ever "friendly"!

I have determined that my life is much more relaxed since I refuse to discuss politics with friends, family and neighbors!

There are three things I never discuss. Politics, Religion, and personal choice of toothpaste.
Mentioned that to a retired priest once during conversation and thinking about it afterwards realised I had just equated his entire lives work to toothpaste.

Last year I was having a problem with mice in the gate opener and by accident, while greasing the chain, I discovered a good mouse deterrent - white Lithium grease. after I greased the chain I sprayed it on all the flat surfaces inside the gate opener control box and have not had any mice problems since then. Then Last week one of my neighbors told me he had found the same thing, the mice hate white lithium grease. We had both use the spray can of grease and got rid of the mice problem. A cat and rat snakes are very good but for certain places the grease is better.

Senator Cornyn has lived in Austin for years.

I've been in Corpus, Port A, Refugio and surrounding areas all week and only had problems getting gas in Refugio. That was because the stations were hit by wind damage. The ones open had gas. All stations in Corpus I was close to had gas. No problem.

Drive north where there was no damage, flooding or problems at all and started seeing bags on pumps and pumps coned off. If people don't have problems they make some.

Our scout troop just took some supplies to Refugio.

Our scout troop just took some supplies to Refugio.

They were hit pretty hard. I'm sure the donations are appreciated. In Goliad they were doing BBQ on the square and giving it away in a bar there. Everywhere we went people were helping each other and doing the best they could under bad circumstances.

Had to attend some meetings but I'll be back down there in a week or so. Working with a large vendor to set up an account for a group where donors can buy relief supplies directly and have them available to the group for distribution at designated locations in their territory. Really excited about it. Cuts out a lot of red tape.

I offered me and my tractor to help my Dermatologist's nurse with her uprooted trees. Their house was destroyed by the Colorado River near Wharton. I gather the property backs up to the river. I'm pumped to go, but she said it will be a few weeks.
Right now been having truck problems. Last week the APPS sensor went out and I had to idle 3 miles home. Now the cruise control is erratic and the thermostat is stuck open. Gonna replace the 'stat in the morning. But all of this is cheaper than payments.
