It is pouring bucket loads here...at least 11" and gusting 40 mph.
We still have power.

North about 3 miles just off 19.

I was wondering if you used it to start your brush fire... :)
Actually, I had some pine tree limbs and lighted them. Then I put alittle diesel (from the bottom o my transport barrel) on around the flame. It was a real dry pile, so it took off.

Funny thing about different alcohols. Tequila really warms my body up, but I don't feel that "burn" with Crown Royal.

I can only drink the cheap tequila. The good stuff goes down too smooth and gets me in trouble.

Ron,
I don't get into any trouble, but I have been known to speaker dance a time or two. Brandi-Hula hoop.jpg I can't remember if this was after 4 margaritas, or Long Island Ice Teas.:licking: Anyway,, whoever took the photo digitally added the hoola hoop. This was after my divorce, in the late 90s.:dance1: Of course I wouldn't do anything like that now!:confused3:

I got woke up this morning to a knock on the door. Seems a Tree (with wet weather springs around it) uprooted and landed on my friend's trailer by my barn. Last 3 hours me and the Big RED Beast with the grapple and chainsaw, surgically removed the tree while my son and friend tarped the roof. Luke had to stay home this morning as a low spot in our street was flooded. I just checked TV weather and heard Hobby Airport is under water. The runway signs look like boat navigation signs. I called the SWA hurricane hotline and Hobby ground operation employees are off today and Monday with pay. I will find out about Tuesday after 1300 hours tomorrow. Photos of tree surgery are being emailed to me by my friend's girlfriend, but they haven't showed up yet..
Rain gauge overflowed at 6 inches, so we have had 12 plus inches of rain so far.
I understand IAH is shut down also. Hobby Airport as a whole will be shut down until 8am Wed. I also understand I-45, the Gulf freeway area looks like a river.
wet hugs, Brandi

Just as I was reading these posts FOX News was saying Hobby is closed for the next week. I think Intercontinental is also closed for the next week.

Just got a company email from my HOU MX manager. He says HOU is closed until 8am Wednesday morning and don't try to come to the airport. I really feel sorry for my coworkers that were caught at HOU. I'd go stir crazy if I was stuck there.

25cent score,
Probably so, but officially HOU is closed until 8am Wed. Don't know about IAH. Watching the news and listening to it on the radio, I have seen and heard that the news folks exaggerate the truth for news rating. 12 becomes "15", 2.5 feet becomes........."almost 3 feet". Stuff like that.

If it is closed that long..................I get a 4 day paid vacation before my 4 day Labor Day weekend. Woohoo.:dance1::cool2::):D:cool::licking:;);) But the bad thing is the news folks are showing computer models of Harvey going back to the coast, then heading directly for Houston, then Conroe, then me. Lord help us all

Just got this picture of Hobby from a relative. Looks like a while before these fly again or the airport opens.

Gus, I don't think your 8 am Thursday flight is going to go far, unless they can put the prop on the tail of the plane.
