CorneyBurger on a stick. Revolutionary.

I think Lou has achieved a new level with his corny-bun recipe.:laughing:

While he was figuring out how to make corny-burgers, I was in the pea patch yesterday. I picked a 5-gal bucket heaping full of blackeyes and then shelled them in the afternoon when it was too hot to work outside. Here's the whole 5-gal shelled and snapped. It weighs exactly 7 lb without the bowl. After cooking, these go well with corny-buns or regular square or round cornbread.:D

Or anything else, or even alone.

I tried a homemade corndog recipe once that came from internet. Batter similar to cornbread, you put it in glass and dunked the weenie in it then fried. Maybe you could try the same by putting a pattie inside batter and deep frying.

I hear they tried that at Texas A&M. They said they had a hard time getting the glass off the corndog after it was cooked.;)

Shoot! Almost anything goes good with a big piece of cornbread!

No problem, as soon as taken out of deep fryer the glass should be "banged" against the kitchen sink. It will come apart in big chunks and be ready to eat.

Zucchini is happy! I made zucchini bread yesterday, and will make more today, along with zucchini pickles! I love this time of year!

Now for my rant: I had to run to town this morning to get more sugar for the bread and pickles. I park at the far end of the lot, and there were only 2 other cars in the lot, and they were parked near the doors. I spent a little time in the store, as I always check out the mark downs in meat, etc. I come out, and some guy is waiting for me to move my rig, as he parked beside me, so close, that he can't open his door wide enough to get his 2 bags of groceries into his car, on the side he wants to load them! There are now only 5 cars in the entire lot, and he chooses the one right next to me?!?! I throw my bag of sugar in on the passenger side, since he is jammed next to me, and then go to get into my truck. He is exasperated, because I am taking so long. I just mentioned, "Well, you are the one parked tightly next to me." Managed to get into my rig and drive off. Explain this mindset to me someone, please.

Rant over!

Beautiful day outside, but looks like our "normal" summer will be back by next weekend. Okra should get happy then. I should make a trip to Costco and stock up on vinegar for pickling. :D

I can't but I met his wife or sister: I went to Wal-Mart yesterday with Betty,, she usually goes by herself,, now I may want to let people who don’t know that she is 64 years old and is an amputee,, They removed her left leg above the knee in 1992 because of a blood clot.. She is confined mostly to a wheel chair because she has fallen several times and broken a bone or two using her crutches or her prosthetic.. So to keep the sanity of the family she agreed not use her crutches only in an emergency.. But she still rides her horse, she does anything she did before except maybe run.. Now the rest of the story,,

When we got to Wal-Mart there was a wheelchair setting outside and I pulled into the handicap spot. I got out and got in the electric wheelchair and drove it around the jeep so my wife could use it.. Just as I pulled around the jeep some young lady got out on the diver side of the car next to us,, she and (I took it to be) her husband had just pulled up,, She said she needed the wheelchair.. I told her so does my wife and I would tell them to bring her one for her husband.. She said it’s not for my husband it’s for me,, I just had carpal tunnel syndrome surgery and I can’t walk because of the pain in my hand..

I looked at her handicap sticker and it was good for two weeks.. My wife got in the wheelchair and we headed to the front door before I started to laugh,, my wife said I was being insensitive .. I felt real bad the rest of the day.. not.. Lou

Lou; I guess that I am insensitive too. Was she going to walk on her hands, or her hands and knees to get to the store and shop?

:laughing:I don’t know farmgirl,, I just told them at the front door that some cripple lady needs a wheelchair,, He said thanks you we will take care of it.. So I headed to the manly side of the store and Betty to girlie side.. Time we got back to the jeep they were gone.. She may have been on some type of medication and couldn’t walk,, That's what Betty said.. I said she can drive.:). Lou
