Getting a new tractor this week, the bucket has as tooth bar. My driveway is gravel and gently slopping. And advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I certainly would. IF a layer of hard packed snow/ice, then I might have it on for a short while.
But it depends on what kind of a job you are happy with. :)

Yes - unless you are in an area with certain melting after storms, in which case you could probably get by leaving an inch or two behind by tilting bucket to not dig in and let the rest melt. In sustained winter conditions you want to be able to scrape the packed snow-ice down with the edge of the bucket and that would be nearly impossible to do without driveway damage with teeth on.

Let me make it a third vote to take it off.

It looks unananimous. Take it off or you'll be digging up your gravel driveway.

Remove the tooth bar, it only takes a few minutes.

Take it off!

It's starting to sound like a strip club in here.

Well hey, if you leave it on the huge gashes in the gravel you leave behind could be used for traction

Is there any risk to the mounting holes while it's off??

I don't think so unless very heavy use with lots of scraping of gravel. If you think you'd use it in that way you could presumably use same holes to mounts a removable wear bar-scraper edge.

Leave it on and try it that way. If it does not work to your satisfaction then take it off.:thumbsup:

Might do a good job of getting rid of ice??:D

Another vote for taking it off. I take mine off each year and put it back on in the spring.

I have a gravel drive also and I take mine off the bucket. Merry Christmas everyone!

I only put the tooth bar on if I want to dig dirt.

Don't need it otherwise. It sticks out and is too easy to hang up on things, like garage doors, etc.

Been using my bucket for moving snow for about ten years...no problems with the toothbar holes.
I do suggest you paint the bare metal with Rustoleam or similar though.

In this part of the country, you can be moving snow one day and moving buckets of dirt the next. Think I'll leave my toothbar on and see.:confused2:
