I was hauling a bit too much weight with my forks on the loader. The block at the end of the rod broke off. Do I need to get a new cylinder or can I just get this welded back on. And what type or weld would it need?

A picture would be helpful to give better advice, but I would say you can just weld it back on.

Grind a good bevel on it and throw some solid weld beads.

Me, done mostly stick welding, would just use some 6013 rods and weld it.

That's how I did it on my homemade loader.

Weld it. I broke the ball end off of my top link, tore the ball cage open. I cut the broken ball cage off of the shaft end and prepared the shaft for welding. I ordered a china replacement ball end from Amazon, welded it on a couple years back and have had no issues since.
